Jesus Knows Your Name

In Bill O'Reillys' fictional tale of Jesus the Nazarene in the movie Killing Jesus, Jesus asked several people "What is your name?"  I had a problem with that! I never remembered from scripture Jesus asking anyone their name! When he picked his disciples, he never asked them for he already knew who they were! Does the man who knows the count of every hair follicle on your head not know the name of the hair's owner?
Luke 12:7 "But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows."
This implies that Jesus is all knowing, called by those who coin ten dollar words as "omniscient"! The almighty (omnipotent) God is omniscient as well. He never needs to be told anything! He's quite aware of all that is going on around him because he is God. Is God so weak that he must ask "Who are you?"

Jesus knows everyone! However, in a spiritual sense he denies those who never knew him:
Matthew 7:22 "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Yes, Jesus knows their name. He knows who they are, but he never knew them as one of his own!

There is one instance where Jesus did ask "What is your name?"
Mark 5:8 "For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many."
Did Jesus not know to whom he was speaking? Of course he did! He knew the number of hairs on the head of the man of  Gadarene who had the evil spirits within him, so he certainly knew the number of unclean spirits in the man's person! Jesus asked a rhetorical question. He desired an answer so that others could hear. He wanted the demons to say "we are many" so that when they were deposed, those watching knew their number by the heads of swine they inhabited! His query was that others could understand the miracle he was about to do! It wasn't ignorance, but power Jesus displayed with that question!

Again O'Reilly, I ask "He had to ask people their names? Oh, really!" The thought that Jesus lacked power would diminish his ultimate display of power: when he took all the sins of mankind and redeemed them all for all men of whom he knew all their names!

Can you imagine Jesus on the cross saying "I'm dying for you, but I don't know your name!"?

Yes, Jesus who could not be contained by walls nor time certainly knows your name!
