Poetic Justice: Jesus does that too!

"Poetic justice" is when people who do bad things to people suffer some sort of harm themselves, often coincidental to the harm they have done. For instance, one man steals from another. The thief shortly thereafter falls and his arm broken. That's the literary term "poetic justice"

"Bad karma" is much the same thing. It's a force believed by pagans to even out the score. Good karma is when good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people.

In the legal world it's called "justice" . That's the fair treatment of people getting what they deserve for their behaviors or actions. If people do good things, they get rewards or recognition; if they do bad things they get the penalty and punishment. The really clever lawbreaker can escape punishment by eluding justice. However, they are the people who often get "poetic justice"!
Isaiah 45:21b "...there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me."
In Christianity a "just" God administers "justice".  However, he appointed his administrator to mete out justice:
Acts 10:41 "Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him (Jesus) after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he (Jesus) which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick (living) and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his (Jesus) name whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) shall receive remission of sins."
Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
2 Timothy 4:1"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom..."
Gnostics believe that the Creator God is a demiurge and is evil!  A demiurge  created the world and since material things, to them, is bad, God the Creator is an evil lesser God. From a standpoint of those who have a gnostic nature, the vengeful God who administers punishment to sinners is is of that nature. Therefore, a God who is "good" merely rewards! Those who think of a fair and just God consider what is fair to themselves only, and since they see themselves in a different light they deserve a reward, and that is heaven!
Proverbs 21:2 "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts."
We judge ourselves, and we believe justice is being rewarded because "It's me!" People often say "I'm going to heaven because I've been good!", notwithstanding that Jesus declared "only God is good"! He also said that our "good" is "as filthy rags" to him. In short no man can serve justice on himself and none deserve heaven:
"...for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"! (Romans 3:23).
Therefore we judge that we ourselves deserve heaven, but a just God says we deserve punishment if we're not pardoned.  We all like to think we're right, but guess what? God is the one who's right!
Acts 10:43a "...through his (Jesus) name whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) shall receive remission of sins."
Because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, people see Jesus as "Savior" and he is! However,  The Son of Man sacrificed flesh, but God sacrificed the Son of God, his own spiritual son. Both the Father and the Son made the sacrifice and they both suffered. That "bad God" (demiurge) is a pretty "good", huh?  God is "good" after all, at least according to his Son!

Because Jesus came to save men's souls and loved us and cried for us, most people who profess Christianity perceive Jesus as "loving", but not one who judges! Au contrare! Jesus, using the gospel, will be the judge of sinners (Romans 2:16)! Jesus will judge the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1). You see, God is a just God (Isaiah 45:21). Jesus suffered the physical pain at his crucifixion, so Jesus the physical victim of murder will judge those who murdered him! That's fair and that's justice!

Many believe that the Jews killed Jesus. Many believe that Pilate was responsible. Since Jesus died for all our sins, mankind crucified Jesus, not one person or group. The killer is the person who has sinned. That's all of us! We drove the nails and humiliated him! However, because of his grace he forgave us all "Forgive them Father, they know what what they do! (Luke 23:24). We killed Jesus, but we did it because we were deceived! Man never really believed that they killed God until it was too late, but he showed them! He arose!

If one believes on Jesus, that he redeemed them and was resurrected, Jesus shall save them! That's not everybody mind you! That's few because few trust In Jesus. Those who fail to trust in Jesus as the Way and only Way to salvation will have punishment administered by Jesus himself!

That's poetic justice. That's legal justice. That's God's justice!

One final note: No one will be clever enough to outwit God's justice: No one... No one shall escape justice. Everyone will either be rewarded for their trust or punished because they were too proud to admit their sins!

W. C. Fields, on his deathbed was said to have been caught reading scripture. When asked "I thought you didn't believe in God?" His response was, "I don't! But I was just looking for a loophole!"

There are no loopholes in God's justice!
