Do You Suppose?

Wow! What if I'm wrong? What if God doesn't exist and I have spent my entire life serving him while neglecting fun. Let's take a look at where I could be now if God either doesn't exist or doesn't care about what I do!

1. No hope
2. Possible depression
3. Broken home
4. No church friends
5. On drugs or alcohol
6. Still smoking cigarettes
7. Bad health, even cancer or heart trouble
8. Social diseases
9. Gamble my money away
10. Possible prison
11. Bare necessities not even there
12. No college, maybe not high school
13. No good job
14. No retirement
15. Broken down home in bad neighborhood
16. Children resent me
17. Friends not respect me
18. Lazy
19. Physically drained
20. Dead!!!!

Maybe I wouldn't have all these maladies, but without the motivation of pleasing God, why would I have a drive to make anything of myself. I would do whatever most people do, and most of those things are destructive in some manner.

Proverbs 12:15a "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: "

The pursuit of pleasure is the action which causes almost all of these effects!

Good behaviors lead to good consequences. Evil behavior leads to destruction!

 Matthew 7:13 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:"

Oh, by the way: the things I would do if there were no God are what most people do even though there is a God. However, there is a chasm between them and God and it's as IF God does not exist!

Grace is God providing for us! It may be things such as life, health, food, shelter, clothing, family, friends, happiness, education, work, and hope. This list is the polar opposite of how things may be without God!

Some people ask "What has God done for me?". The answer is "all those things" for without the grace of God, we'd be totally on our own! Do you have an education and a good job? If so, thank God! If you don't, do you have your health and family? If so, thank God! Is your home on the street? You're alive, thank God!  The sum of our existence, whatever it may be, is by the grace of God!

CHOICES:

We have two choices. Be a "fool" and disbelieve or be "wise" and believe!

Proverbs 12:15b "but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise."

The counsel unto which we are to hearken is God's counsel. It's accepting his gift of wisdom. Do we choose the part of the "fool" or the position of "wisdom". For the fool, he is his own God and there is no other. For the wise person, God is his hope.

Choose list 1 and be a fool. Choose the gifts of God's grace and be wise.

With a choice why do people still choose foolishly? Because we love ourselves so much that failure doesn't make us balk before the desire of what we pleasure.

By the way: God is real and God IS NOT dead!
