OUTLINE:
  • Tear (tair) vs. tear (tee-er)
  • Jeopardy - Answer: Tearing down.  Question: How do people destroy each other?
  • Analogy between building demolition and tearing down each others gods
  • God knows that we love our self and he wants us to love the other selfs as much as our own flesh.
  • Answer: Us. Question: We are the "other gods"  in  "Thou shall have no other gods before me."
  • Gen 3:5 "For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil."
  • Answer: Who is our idol? Answer: Our flesh! 
  • Romans 8:7 "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
  • Each have rival gods - Battle of the gods
  • Equipment is our god - the building is the god of others
  • Weapons of the war: tearing down the other gods whom we're to love.
  • How do we tear down each other?
  • Ephesians 4:31 "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:"
  • Bitterness (grudges, jealousies)
  • Wrath (Extreme Anger, Getting even)
  • Anger (antagonize another until they are emotionally hurt)
  • Clamour (drowning out others, rabble-rousing)
  • Evil speaking (lies, gossip, denigrating, blaming)
  • malice (doing things to harm another) mostly mental and emotional hurt
  • How do we quit demolishing those we are to love?
  • Ephesians 4:32 "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
  • To forgive doesn't end there. We all must love again even of we're wronged.
  • Placing our own god over the god of others and God!
