Perhaps Judas got the “gain;” perhaps not! He was contrite since he showed guilt. It also must be remembered that Jesus died to save “whosoever” that “none should perish” (John 3:16). “Should” in that passage is ambiguous. Some versions translate it “shall” and “will.” However, “should” is the best because God’s Will is to save all but all but the unwilling. They should be saved but some will choose not to be. Hence, it is resistible grace and anyone who has been converted for real know that he or she has resisted the Spirit of God!
Born again, therefore is much like birth. The flesh resists birth and it does rebirth. The preborn baby is willing to be born but both his and his mother resists birth.
With rebirth, the same resistance ensues. It is not an easy birth in that the flesh resists all the Way to the end. Rebirth is not a moment in time but a long wrestling match with Jesus who in the end desires that the wrestling match ends with you as the winner.
Jacob wrestled with Jesus:
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a Man with him until the breaking of the day… 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me… 30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. (Gen 32:24,26, 30)
Jacob was blessed; he became the new person, “Israel” and even his flesh changed (verse 31). He wrestled with God, not for a minute, not for an hour, but all night. Jacob resisted God but he wrestled so long that God let Jacob win.
The “Man” therein was Jesus who is God in the Flesh. Jacob wrestled with Jesus all night, and resisted Him all the time, and then God blessed him. He found grace in much the same manner as sinful men still do.
Jacob’s wrestling match was real. He wrestled unto the death like any gladiator would. The wrestling match was not about who would die right then, but whether Jacob would wither or not!
God put a mark on Jacob to show him His Power; Jesus withered his thigh, surely to demonstrate who had the power and who did not.
When Adam “wrestled” with the Word of God, he withered but could not sense it in his flesh, albeit his spirit sensed that something was wrong. He saw that in Eve as well.
God wanted to be clearer with Jacob. He allowed Jacob to sense and feel withering; the withered thigh that would be there the rest of his life, surely as a reminder that all must die and whether death is manifested or not, the flesh still withers unto death.
How does death ensue? There are two ways: (1) the DNA is “programmed” to live only a certain length of time, or (2) “damage related” — from disease to accidents. The “program” of God was eternal life, but sin usurped that plan.

Jacob died after 147 years, but he lived on in his genes. Eventually, Jacob’s “Garden” that he seeded in Paradise lived hundreds of years but even the nation “Israel” withered until it was dead. Only in 1948 did God regenerate Israel and make it a new nation from Israel’s seed.
In the beginning, God programmed His man to be immortal, but sin withered. The carbon in the DNA began to mutate and wither until by now the new program for the world is eighty for men and eighty-four for women (Swanson 2016).
Life is programmed in the DNA and Lucifer’s M.O. has
always been to change that program. Science tells about the Program of God:
Telomere shortening is one well-known factor that leads to our cells losing the ability to divide. Our DNA is stored as tightly wrapped strands which form structures called chromosomes. Telomeres are located at the very end of chromosomes, seen as bright dots in the image above, and are made up of DNA that is not used in our genome. When our cells divide, the DNA in the cells must be copied, but the copying mechanism isn’t perfect and it misses some of the DNA on the end. This is where telomeres save the day, as a little bit of telomere gets cut off instead of our important DNA. However, after enough divisions the telomeres may get totally used up, and stop protecting the important DNA. (ibid)
Jacob’s withered thigh changed God’s Program in a local area
to show that He could do that for the entire organism. Jacob could have
withered right there but fail to understand it. The wrestling match was, in
biogenetics, a “damage related factor” that was not preprogrammed by God.
Science explains it this way:
Free radicals, a toxic byproduct of cellular metabolism, also play a role in damaging our cells. These highly reactive molecules are missing an electron and will happily remove them from your healthy cells, causing damage. (ibid)
Jesus did something to the thigh of Jacob. He did it without damaging the outside, but every cell within his thigh was radically changed by a “toxic shock” from God. When bacteria and viruses invade the cells of the body, autoimmunity attacks, and as it does, it withers some of the organism as immunity even attacks the DNA and cells begin to die off.
Natural aging is programmed by God. Soon after the child is born, its cells begin to die at around six years of age and about the time that they begin to understand right and wrong — life and death.
Because they are born in iniquity (Psalm 51:5), the cells begin to die as “telomere” takes its tow with sin because of its damage related factor begins to change each cell of their body; just as Swanson described in the quote above.
Satan (the Serpent) apparently damaged the telomeres in the DNA so that Adam and Eve would slowly die. Autoimmunity stops the withering, but the damage is already done. Myocardial infarction of the heart may already be the damage (the irreversible death of cells in the heart).
With Jacob, God was less invasive; He killed the cells of the thigh; if He had the heart, Jacob would have died. Jesus reprogrammed the telomeres of the thigh by shortening them. Do you still not get it? The DNA is what God programmed, what Satan altered, and what God can restore. The new incorruptible flesh that Christians shall have after glorification is perfect DNA as God programmed in the beginning.
The COVID virus invaded the cells of most of mankind. God’s autoimmunity took care of many (including me and my family). Then for damage control a foreign substance was injected into, not the thigh, but the shoulder, and currently many have begun to wither. Is it coincidence that Jacob’s thigh withered, and false vaccines are injected into shoulders? Nothing is coincidental. God intervened with Jacob and Lucifer may have intervened with modern man.
Paul’s “gain” would be when he died. His corrupt flesh was given up as his carotid arteries spewed blood from his body as he was beheaded. Paul rejected the corrupt DNA of Lucifer as he faced his adversaries in peace. Perhaps rejecting that bad blood was part of his gain. Gain because at the General Resurrection, Paul will get his “groove” back as Jesus restores the DNA-type of Adam and Himself into the new non-withered flesh of Paul.

Gain-of-function research (GoF research or GoFR) is medical research that genetically alters an organism in a way that may enhance the biological functions of gene products… This research is intended to reveal targets to better predict emerging infectious diseases and to develop vaccines and therapeutics. Hence, gain of function is a substitution for natural (God-given) autoimmunity. The purpose of the Wuhan research was to circumvent God, and for them to create a disease and them to provide an antidote better than the one that God provided. They were not as God, but as Lucifer. Rather than a “fertilizer” for the Garden, Lucifer used an “herbicide” in a Garden of perfectly good beings. He poisoned them with the “gain of function” that he sought for himself with his pompous aspirations (Isa 14).
Rather than gain the “crop” of humans, he withered them until they would die. That is also what happened to Dr. Fauci’s gain of function scheme, but Satan still uses that insane tactic because he does the same thing over and over again until God intervenes and ceases his reprogramming.
Paul’s “gain” was also a “gain of function,” but by trusting God and not Lucifer. Paul was in poor health and his vision about gone. He knew that his flesh was dying all the while his soul was prospering. Something had to be done, so he went where the children of the Wicked One were. He went to Rome for his gain of function, and there he was beheaded and was “cured” by bleeding out the bad blood in much the same way colonial Americans would do.
Function is life that God breathed in. Paul’s gain was to refunction as God programmed his progenitor, Adam.
Fauci tried that with SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and it failed — the gain was loss. Paul wrote, “to die is gain” because he was in Christ.
In Christ was with the breath of God in him — the Holy Spirit. The Serpent inside Lucifer, like the leech worm that he was, sucked the blood of Adam and Eve. He exhumed the Breath of God from mankind. That was the first case of SARS ever to have been recorded. It may have been the first use of I can’t breath!
Paul received a gain of function when he suffered his “cross” for Jesus. He was transformed from a dying man to one fully alive whose DNA was on the ground somewhere in Rome. Paul had ridded himself of the Serpent that buffeted him by trusting Jesus in his travels to pagan lands.
Paul wrote of this as “for me” in the key verse: “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Paul was one of the “whosoever” in John 3:16 and God would gain him function as a whole individual with permanent autoimmunity just as He reprogrammed him!
Paul made a choice. He was presented with a Voice of a dead man (Jesus) and he saw that death could be overcome. A good guess is that he knew scripture so well, that when he heard Jesus alive and speaking, Paul knew that Jesus had overcome the world just as He said all along. “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
A blinded man with the lance did not kill Paul; God did. God changed the program. Satan had lost his flesh and had no power to even kill the body, let alone the soul. It was gain for Paul because Jesus had overcome the Wicked One and he would need not! Paul new that if Jesus could rebirth him, that he could deliver him to another realm. Can you imagine Paul as he was whisked to another world; that he surely left with a smile on his face!

Indeed, salvation is a “gain of function” where the “prediction” (prophecy) is that things will go completely awry in the end, but the influence of the blood of Jesus on the DNA of sinners prevents the infarction of the spirit. Although the flesh suffers a disease in the world, that it can be made alive again in a different, perfect environment. No longer will SARS suffers need to go to Arizona but the real “spa” in Paradise for the cure!
