ON GRAVITY

“In the beginning, God made the heaven and the earth.” Time (the beginning), the process (made), volume or space (heaven), and mass or particles (earth) is in that “equation” but where does gravity come in? Most people would think of gravity as some sort of a hindrance — an impedance. Some may even think that the “Adversary” Satan made the impedance, but he made nothing.

I personally have looked for gravity in the Bible for years! I Failed to find it because I saw it as a negative force that had to be overcome because Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). The fact that Christ overcame the world contributed to that concept of negativity because gravity is what restrains us from entering heaven; it seems to hold us back.

The dictionary did not help with that negativity because it is negativity, a weight, a strong attraction between huge bodies that hold each in their places, or acceleration from one higher potential to a lower one (potential to kinetic energy).

Anyone who has skied downhill has dealt with potential energy as it quickly changes into the kinetic! It takes time and much effort to control that downhill acceleration — the pull of gravity — to return to a state of static equilibrium. I skied, I fought gravity, and gravity won. I crashed!

Overall, gravity is thought of as a weak field of some invisible “substance” that impedes us from venturing beyond our world. In fact, outer space travel came very late in human progress because the gravity of the world had to be overcome. Now when rockets launch to escape gravity, it takes tremendous amounts of expensive fuel! Even returning from space is expensive because the rockets burn up due to the acceleration from the change in gravitational potential energy. It is always costly to overcome gravity, even in ancient days! Consider the Tower of Babel that the people of Shinar (where Nimrod, “the great hunter,” was king:

1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (Gen 11:1-6)

“They” (the people of the East) found a flat plain suitable for their purpose. There was order in that they all spoke one language and because of that, they worked together for the job at hand. Like the Jews at Pentecost so many years later, they were of one accord, and their plan was to hunt. They built the great city, but Nimrod would be the great hunter, “to make a name for himself”!

There is so much implied therein. He would not build a tower to glorify God, but to glorify himself. He would overcome the world and its gravitational attraction for his body.

Thus, he is the first case of the narcissism of his “father, the devil,” hence Nimrod, since that time, has been the “father” of all the adversarial gods of the East, from those of Babylon to those of the Greeks, Romans, and even the Druids. His name was prominent for only a short time, now those with his nature have various names in the pantheon of gods of those in all the garbled languages. Think of Zeus and the other gods as mythological characters that get the glory that Nimrod sought.

To be the great hunter, that implies that Nimrod would stalk Almighty God. On Earth, God was invincible, so Nimrod would hunt Him down on His own Estate as was the case in ancient warfare. Nimrod, like those great hunters after him — Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander, and Titus — would have to lay siege to where the “enemy” lived. Great hunters, generally waited until their prey weakened before they struck. That would have been the plan of Nimrod. He would overcome God but before that, he would have to build a “ladder” to cross the tall barrier between them and God. One ladder would be difficult for so many of them to cross-over, so a “bridge” would be required. It would be a high bridge, so it would be of bricks and in the form of a tower to the heavens — the residence of God Himself.

Nimrod was as foolish as those scientists in the space program. Each only thought that a celestial destination would prove that either God is not for real, or that God could be “killed” by showing that He was not in the heavens. Neither understood, that they could not cross over from one Paradise to another but by the Blood of Jesus, as the “fuel” to overcome the world.

Nimrod was as stupid a hunter as Joe Biden is today. Just as the FBI believe they can kill democracy and the One True God, by minimizing their MAGA “army,” so to speak, Nimrod would kill God by demonstrating to them that God was not up there. He was not only the “Mighty Hunter” but the first “Space Cadet” in the world’s Space Force.

Therefore, the goal of Nimrod was to build a tower of bricks, not to find God, but not to find Him! To kill off God required that he overcome the world to overcome God. He was, therefore, the “king” that Lucifer, the self-anointed “Caesar” (Tzar, Czar, king of kings, or dictator) would use to diminish God, knowing that God is real, and that God is the indestructible beginning and ending Existence (Rev 1:8).

Now back to the beginning. The “equation” must be balanced, according to the “First Law of Theodynamics:” Existence generates mass and volume in “the process of time” (Gen 4:3). Nimrod was trying to eliminate God from the “Creation Equation” just as Einstein tried and failed with the “God Equation” — E=mc2. (Einstein finally concluded that the “Energy” in that equation was the Existence, “God.”

That equation resulted not from Genesis 1:1 but from “The Law of General Relativity.” Einstein showed in nature that “time” could be bent by what? Gravity!  As light passed over huge masses in space, science was able to measure the deflection of light rays due to nearby masses. He identified that great force as a gravitational field.

In the 1960s, science taught that huge masses “pull” toward each other. Since, science has found that gravity is an invisible force field that pushes masses away. Rather from “below” the Earth, the gravitational force of the Earth comes from above. From whom or what above? They do not know, but it is known from scripture that all things were engendered by God above (Gen 1), and specifically, Adam and Eve:

25 And God made the beast of the Earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the Earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26 And God said, “Let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness…” (Gen 1:25-26)

The entire chapter of Genesis chapter one was an orderly process from beginning to ending. It is sad, but The Book of Enoch is only canon in the Orthodox and eastern canon. Enoch described the order that God created. He generated all things, not just “very good” as translated, “God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good” (Gen 1:31). However, not just very, but precisely me’ od tob — mightily (forcefully) beneficial (BLB 2021).

I think that verse described gravity. God made the “earth.” It does not refer only to this world but matter in general, and He made if forcefully beneficial. What was that “force”? Gravity! So, there it is — gravity was made “good,” or beneficial, for mankind and the other kinds!

Gravity is an invisible force that acts on mass. That force is caused by God and is the constant “g.” Why is weight a force? It is the mass multiplied by its potential deceleration — the deceleration that is opposed by the mass. A mass applies and unseen force on the other body, even Adam’s and Eve’s bodies, that kept them on Earth. When there was a worldly Paradise, that was very good, but since Paradise is now in the heavens, it is entirely beneficial out there.

God prepared a way for things to obtain mightily beneficial again! “To die is gain” (Phil 1:21) is gain for a reason — it is part of the process of glorification (John 7:39).

The “Glory of God” (Exod 33:18) is kabod in the Hebrew— “properly, weight, but only figuratively in a good sense, splendor” (ibid). “Weightiness” would be in a bad sense and splendor is a good sense, so glory is how God is looked upon. That weight keeps us from God is a bad sense, but that is from God is a good sense. Nimrod found out the bad sense in that when he was going to defy gravity, overcome the world, and snuff out the Glory of the LORD GOD. (Weight is mass times “g,” the gravitational “push.”)

What stopped the mighty hunter from his snuffing escapade? Gravity! God put weight on the bricks just as He does space rockets to this day. God uses the weight of that invisible force above — His Glory — to prevent mankind from being as God (Gen 3:5). As God? Yes… it was God in the flesh of Jesus who was glorified (John 7:39) and defied gravity to be, not under the Glory of the LORD, but with the Glory of the LORD on His throne (Rev 21:23).

That the Glory of God is weighty was revealed to John:

“And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven” (Rev 1:13)

To be brief, what causes earthquakes? Gravity working on the masses of the earth, causing pressure to build up. John, in that vision, saw them give God the “Glory.” It was God pushing down on the masses to make them quake! He had done that long before as well, when the walls of the city of Jericho came falling down. It was the Glory of God (the weightiness of the stones) that made them fall.

What happened to the Tower of Babel?

8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the Earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the Earth. (Gen 11:8-9)

How do you think God did that? He encrypted their speech, so that they lost their ability to communicate what to do. What were they doing? Sure, they were building a tower, but fundamentally, they were building the tower to overcome gravity and diminish the Glory of God, as they would get the glory and make a “Name” for themselves. As such, Nimrod was vying for the office that would be held by Jesus years later — rather than Prince of Power, as King of kings.

Because their speech became garbled, they failed to overcome the “weight” of the bricks upon each other, and since the tower is no longer there, eventually the Weighty Hand of God made it fall down. Gravity did that and it was from the Glory of the Invisible God. What a clue that scripture gives about the One True God, and we all missed the Power of God in gravity!

Jesus was “glorifed” at His death:

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.” (John 7:39)

How was Jesus glorified? He became massless (in Spirit) and gravity would not effect Him at all. That day, Jesus overcame the mass of the world, there was an earthquake, and He carried the weight of sin to Hades and the sinless Dismus (the repentant thief) to Paradise with great speed — surely in a “twinkling of an eye” as He would with the dead in Christ at the sound of the trump (1 Cor 15:52). Most of the events during the crucifixion were gravitational, from Judas falling to the ground, and the earth opening to receive the genes in the Blood of the Savior.

Often missed is that the flesh of Jesus was changed at His crucifixion. Forces, other than His Father’s, would have no effect on Him. He walked through masses — the stones of His tomb and the walls of the upper room.

Jesus would be glorified, and weight (mass with its gravitational g-forces) would have no bearing on Him, nor even sin any longer, “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor 5:21). Sin is a burden to ourselves (Job 7:2), but Jesus took on that burden, so we too can be glorified and gravity would have no effect on our new flesh.

Often missed are two points in scripture: (1) Jesus arose (Acts 1) as He was fully glorified. He defied gravity to go from one realm to the next, and (2) Judas with Satan in him, hung himself, but look who made Judas weighty: “Now this man (Judas with the weight of Satan burdening him) purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out” (Acts 1:18).

Who made Judas fall? It was gravity that pushed him unto the gate of Hell at Gehenna. God shoved Satan through the ground and into Hell. Gravity on those two occasions was why “Good Friday.” Gravity was seen as a good thing!

Gravity is a good thing, but it is not an invisible image of God but God’s Almightiness, or “Glory” pushing down on man to keep order. Just where would we go without the alleviation of gravity? I believe that there is no other way to go than by the Resurrection — the Great Day when the body of those in Christ overcome the gravitational, and lustful, pull of the world to enter into Paradise unto heaven.

And with the Earth cleansed by fire, the Glory of God will continue a good (dynamis) work. Gravity will be used for good one more time in the end:

Him that overcometh (the world and the burden of sin) will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the Name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is “New Jerusalem,” which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name” (Rev 13:12)

That vision is of a new creature, glorified in Christ, with the burden of gravity removed, held in place as a “pillar” upon the Rock of God. Where the City of God goes, so goes the new creatures carried by Christ.

Gravity, in the end, will bring the City of God to the Earth again, and Glory of God will push that City down until it is in its place that He has prepared for it! A good guess is that gravity will push New Jerusalem down to its foundation in Jerusalem, Israel, the Garden Paradise in the middle of Eden… on Earth where gravity, the Glory of God, will keep is forever.

I have explained gravity as I understand it. Gravity is not a God, or else Hercules would be a real god. Gravity is the grace of God whose strength and power — more powerful than any nuclear bomb — holds things in their places. It is worth reading the Books of Enoch to understand that the cosmos has order and is held in place by the Glory of God — the gravitational push from the hand of God to keep His Creation in harmony and each in its place.

So far, nobody has explained gravity but hidden in the word, “Glory,” God points toward it as the “Virtue” (Dynamis in the Greek) from Him.

Within Virtue is concealed so much. Dynamis is the Greek root of “dynamics.”

Kinematics is motion that is controlled by physical linkages. I have studied “kinematics” in engineering school, and it is the science without the effects of gravity. However, “dynamics” is the engineering study of motion with the effects of gravity not neglected. Inertia is a force that simulates gravitational pull, and its motion is momentum. Helicopters overcome gravity by inertia and momentum, for instance.

In kinematics, the masses of the bodies are ignored and as such gravity does not influence the bodies. That dynamis is translated as “virtue” implies that “gravity” (weight of God) is dynamic. God changes things with His dynamics. God is not a stagnant God that has nothing to do with the world (for the Deists) but a dynamic God that has everything to do with this great mass (Theists).

I am a Theist because I credit God with all things; not only those gigantic “particles” so fluidic in their fields in the cosmos, but the gravity that gives them harmonic motion and holds them together.

You must believe in gravity! That it is God that holds is on this spherical planet is not silly but due to His Glory!

The true science is obvious; satellites are held in orbit around the Earth and their paths are concentric to the circle of the Earth, as Isaiah called the shape of the Earth without respect to a position. For everyone, it is a circle; not just from where you stand but where anybody stands!

Satellites are propelled into space using tremendous power to overcome gravity. You can see that occur at Cape Canaveral. Once in space it is guided to one of the infinite number of circles, and gravity continues to pull it down as it follows a pre-calculated trajectory.

A rocket is guided onto a circle of the Earth at just the right altitude that it falls proportional to the speed of the Earth’s rotation. That “g” push down on the rocket must be in balance by its lateral velocity so that the propulsion falls at the same rate the surface of the Earth is rounded. It moves at the same velocity as that point just above the world but appears to be the stationary. As such, the rocket becomes a satellite of the world because of its initial speed and the influence of gravity.

Man has become the “god” because, even though Nimrod failed his anti-gravitational quest, mankind in this New Age has not. It is one huge step for mankind but a goad prick to God! Those rockets are the “goads” that are used to prick Jesus, just as with Paul’s attacks against Him!

Sinful man carries their burdens themselves. Their sin is doing things without the influence of God. That they can overcome the Glory of God holding them down and go to heaven without Him is foolishness! Only Jesus can do that and “He has overcome the world,” so that we need not.

Throughout my education, we were taught to make things easy, to ignore some influences. Most often, that was entropy — the irreversible effects of gravity on a system. Usually, that was wind losses or friction, the latter caused by gravity.

With any Christian, we have been taught to ignore certain things; one for sure is sin. Jesus overcomes the weighty burden of sin by His New Glorious Body, not pushing us away from Him but attracting is to Him. Our own “glorification” is when our masses (dead bodies) overcome gravity and are translated to Paradise in heaven by the dynamics of Jesus. Perhaps He does not pull us there, and certainly He does not push us away. Since He is God, the ascension unto heaven would be by glorifying us like Himself, wherein gravity would have no effect on our path from here to there!

Science is still in discovery. Just as they have recently found the heavens of another realm with anti-matter; the next giant leap for mankind would be to somehow overcome gravity. They have done the unthinkable — they have overcome the world, and in their eyes, gravity has been defeated and God diminished, all from the knowledge of the Tree of Knowledge.

That it is the “Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil” does not mean that it has evil in it. The fruit is perhaps the same but depends on how it is used. Using good knowledge for the pursuit of is the wrong way to find Paradise!
