Short and Sweet for the Children

It's not complicated. We are to be as little children. That doesn't mean that we are selfish little brats, but that we believe God just because he says so!

What does he say to do? Believe in him and trust him. That's faith and it's his gift to his children. We can take the gift or leave it. Like spoiled children, most say "That's not the gift I wanted!", but hopeful children say "There is more to that gift than meets the eye! I hope for more!".  They are right because selfish children demand it now, while hopeful children wait for the good part, believing that it is soon to come!

My prayer is that I can put away my misconceptions that adults carry with us, long enough to trust that what God gives is soon to come about. It will be a happy day indeed when what I wanted all along is given to me at last. What is the gift that even children desire, but yet are unaware? We want to be supermen and invulnerable. We desire that kryptonite be forever sunk in a deep lake of fire and Lex Luthar be cast down with it.

We want that we should pass through solid walls and travel quickly in time. We want to live where evil is trumped by good. It's where our home will be protected by super heroes and the mightiest one sits upon his throne. It's where we're a man of steel and sickness cannot harm us. It's where we are happy that justice is now for all. It's knowing that today never ends, and tomorrow never comes. It's where life will be forever, because in grace justice has won!
