What the National Socialists were noted for is slanted news. They not only misrepresented but actually created news. News with integrity and straightforwardness is a good thing but unfortunately most people have biases. News with biasness intentention is to deceive. It is called "propaganda." The Third Reich had a Minister of Propaganda whose job was to remold the minds of the German populace.
Propaganda is, "information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view." (Merriam-Webster Dict.)
The first recorded case of propaganda was about death. God told Adam, eat and you will die (Gen 2:17). That was truthful which is a basic characteristic of God.
The Serpent said, No you won't, God fears that if you eat, you'll be as wise as Him (Gen 3:4-5). That statement was cunningness (Gen 3:1) because the subtil Serpent provided misleading information.
First off, neither Adam nor Eve had ever seen death. Although they were intelligent and very good people, they were naïve because they were innocent. We all know of people who are ignorant of certain things. "Good girls" in my youth were ignorant of sexual matters and made themselves vulnerable to creeps who would take advantage of their naivete.
God is nice about naïve people. He calls them foolish: "God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise" (1 Cor 1:27). The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was the source of foolishness. God made it to test the wisdom of His children. They failed, and continue to fail to this day!
The leftists call the foolish, "stupid" (Jonathan Gruber; "stupidity of the American voter"). Adam and Eve were not stupid; they were entirely innocent until they gained the knowledge of evil in addition to their knowledge of only "good" before that. (Gen 1:31). The forbidden tree didn't make them stupid, but it did make them foolish. Satan depends on the foolishness of the people of the world to advance his cause.
Just what is Satan's motive? "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God... I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High" (Isa 14:13-14). Satan wanted power, and for his own power he deceived Eve. Adam's problem was not deception, but he willingly transgressed God (Gen 3:6), and the first sin was counted to Adam because he ought to have known better (Rom 5:12).
Propaganda was used to persuade Eve, and it worked. When she was persuaded, then Adam was swayed. He saw Eve eat and not die, or so he thought, so he ate as well although God said they would! Adam chose to believe the lie because that is an easier route and seems to provide more pleasure.
About all "isms" use that technique. For instance, socialism has historically led to massive deaths. God wants people dependent on Him. Socialism wants people dependent on the government. Why is that? Like Satan, they think, " I will be like the most High." It is for ultiately for power!
Fair warning to naive people: partake of socialism and you will surely die. Some in the western world ate and haven't died yet, so "stupid American voters" (Gruber) depend on the naivete of Americans to buy into their propaganda. They have eaten part of the fruit, and have not yet died, but fail to understand that someday they will die. Socialism minimizes, even trivilizes, God. Eating of the fruit of "godless socialism" causes spiritual death.
Those who eat of the forbidden tree are skeptical. They see the good things on the tree, obtain a small piece of the fruit, then hope all the fruits of the tree will be theirs for the having: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" - the slogan of socialism. The problem is not with that intention, but its abuse. Marx's intention was never for the good of the people, but for the power of the leadership. His desire was to force (communism/Nazism) his type of "goodness" on people who may see it for what it is - bad fruit!
The Serpent didnt have to force the two foolish people to eat; he just merely spinned the truth. Satan, although the "father of lies" (John 8:44), uses mostly truth to deceive. He didn't condemn God, he merely twisted why God made the rule. That method is propaganda, called "narratives" in the modern world. Propaganda is information; both correct and false (good and evil). However, it is presented in such a way to mislead. Why would anyone want to do that? Webster provided a reason as well: to promote a particular viewpoint. Obviously, people would not mislead to persent factual information. Therefore, their particular viewpoint is evil-doing.
Have you ever noticed that those on the media use the same arguments and accusations? On certain days, those in the news say things coordinated things like, today there was a bombshell or the president (or whomever) was caught in a lie. They make their coordination so obvious that only a fool would believe their deception. The media depends on that, and their tool is propaganda. The left knows that it works, and depend on the"stupidity" of the listener.
When the Serpent presented his distorted perversion of the truth (not version), he had to belittle God to make himself credible. He said, God just doesn't want you to be wise like Him (Gen 3:5). In politics, the method is to undermine the credibility of those the liars want to destroy. They don't use arguments, but resort to name-calling: fascist, hater, intolerant, bigoted, antisemitic, inhumane, and such. Those are not facts, they are meant to mislead because the arguments are weak and unfruitful.
In the old television series, Dragnet, Sgt. Joe Friday, when interrogating witnesses, often said, "Just, the facts, ma'am; just the facts." The Serpent failed to mention one fact: you won't die this instant, but you will begin to die once you eat. Neither did he say, God meant spiritual death! The Serpent neglected the whole truth.
Socialism, which the media propagates, never tells the whole truth. Seldom does anyone hear from the newsmedia that socialists have a history of killing people just because motivated people want to keep what belongs to them! They never mention that socialists have little desire to give of their ability but for you to give from your hard work. Why are so many socialists millionaries, stupid people? Because your satsfaction with a little bite of the fruit allows them to own the whole tree! Socialism makes powerful socialists rich off the hard work of their serfs. It is a return to serfdom, and people do so voluntarily! They walk to their deaths and think it's to paradise.
The National Socialists used propaganda; you are merely being resettled; get in the rail car. The Jews voluntarily went to their death. If Himmler had said the whole truth - resettled for awhile until we decide to kill you - how many would have got on the train? Not many; they would have chose death in freedom to death in bondage.
I fight death under socialism to remain free. There is a great cost to socialism - people must do, say, aned even think what the PC Police demand! I would rather die in freedom than to lose my freedom, life, and soul to the socialist "gods."
Patrick Henry said, "Give me liberty or give me death!" Adam chose death. I choose to live free of the deception of socialism. Socialists are as "good as dead" because, like Faust, they trade their souls for the promise of good things. In the end, only one thing matters, and that is eternal life. Socialism does not even try to offer that; there is no hope in socialism.
