The way of the world is importance of first sons. “Primogeniture is the right, by law or custom, of the firstborn legitimate child to inherit the parent's entire or main estate in preference to shared inheritance among all or some children, any illegitimate child or any collateral relative” (Wikipedia).
Abraham himself is the founding father in his special
relationship to God. Yahweh, with the “Covenant of Pieces,” made Abraham
the father of His own children. Do not think biological children but spiritual
ones. Spiritual Jews and Christians are descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob (Gen 32:9). With that said, when Abraham died, Jacob laid on the bed with
his “father” Abraham and felt safe in Abraham’s bosom.
When Abraham died, his soul immediately went to the heavenly
Paradise. Jacob felt safe in Abrahams’s bosom because Abraham was safe in
Paradise and Jacob was therefore in Paradise with Abraham. He received
Abraham’s inheritance and Isaac did as well.
By the law of primogeniture, Esau would have been in
Abraham’s bosom. He had missed the inheritance as well when Jacob was there in
Isaac’s bosom when Isaac died. Note that when Lazarus died in apostolic times, he
too was in Abraham’s bosom. Abraham is the spiritual father of all who trust
God, and the Abrahamic Covenant of the Pieces remains to this day, the “Covenant of Grace.”
Esau was an heir of Abraham as well, but that did not make
him a spiritual child of God. Neither does it make Edomites (the seed of Esau)
part of the Covenant of the Pieces. Hence, Esau’s children, the Arabs, are not
part of the Covenant of Grace because although they have biological lineage
from Abraham, they are not his spiritual children. As such, Islam is not part
of the Covenant of Grace and are not even a “piece” in God’s Covenant with
Abraham.
Terah was the father of Abraham, and his due was the estate
of Terah in Ur. Abraham hated his father’s idols, and as such he destroyed them
and fled to another land. He knew that when he did that, his inheritance would
be gone. The law of primogeniture had been broken when the idols were broken!
God saw that Abraham would not depend on things for security, but on the
Invisible God. Although Abraham lost the inheritance from Terah, he received a
greater inheritance from God!
Primogeniture involves several things: land, money, pride, and
power. The oldest son literally “lords” over his brothers and sisters. Terah
was not Abraham’s Lord and he gave up his birthright to follow God in the
Paradise of Canaan.
Therein God supplied. He had not the love of money, which is
the root of all evil, so God adopted Abraham as a second son, since all his
other “sons” in chronology were either dead or undeserving. Even Terah was
passed over in favor of Abraham because God was not his God.
The key verses for today follow:
KEY VERSES: 21 Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, “If it be so, why am I thus?” And she went to enquire of the Lord. 23 And the Lord said unto her, “Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger...” 25 The first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob… 33 And Jacob said (To Esau), “Swear to me this day;” and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. { Gen 21:21-23, 25-26, 33)
Rebecca was barren thus her womb represents the world, and specifically Paradise
where Adam was born. Adam was God’s first biological son, and Jesus His
first spiritual Son As such, Jesus’s share was only the Garden Paradise, but
Adam’s the entire world. Adam received the larger portion (piece) because of
the love of “money.” The medium of exchange throughout time has always been
what was most valuable to the inhabitants. The fruit of the Tree of Life was free,
but they were spiritual fruits. Adam put his eyes on “shiny things” that were
on the forbidden tree. He was given land to live on, but only in 5500 years (The
Books of Adam and Eve) would Adam receive his spiritual inheritance. Ironically,
God gave Lucifer, His invisible first son, the world. (Jesus was not created
but as God, always Existed).
Lucifer is the “prince of the power of the air” (Ephes 2:2),
meaning the spirit of the world who controls the world with the law of sin. His
inheritance was the land all over the world, but Jesus retained Paradise, and
is King there to this day.
Lucifer’s conspiracy is to what? “I will ascend above the
heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” (Isa 14:14). Lucifer, now
“gentleman of the manor” called, Sata, has all the land, but his attempt to control
the heavens was foyled when Jesus suffered death on the Cross. Jesus
suffered death but did not die. On that same day Lucifer, as Satan in Judas, lost
the land. He returned to the invisible realm where he shall remain until he
comes again in bodily shape as the Antichrist.
Jesus is Lord of all. He is, as the sign said,” King of the
Jews.” He is the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and like both Isaac and
Jacob, when He came in the Flesh, He was from the second son of Abraham, and of
God! The crucifixion finally terminated any thoughts of the validity of the Law
of Primogeniture.
Note that, but in the case of Abraham, who gave up his
birthright by becoming the spiritual and soon, the legal son of God, second
sons were the Way of God, as we saw with Seth who got Cain’s inheritance and so
on. Noah received the world as the son of God, not as the son of Lamech. And of
his sons, and this is important, Shem — Noah’s first son — got the land, but Japheth,
the third son, was destined to obtain the spiritual world. Although the second
son, Ham lost his birthright, because of sin. His sons would serve both Shem
and Japheth’s sons.
It is written, “God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall
dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant” (Gen 9:27).
Japhethites are Gentiles. Gentiles would live in the “tents” of Abraham’s line
who descended from Shem! Abraham had control of the inheritance until Jesus
came as the second son. The Abrahamic Covenant pointed toward the final
dissolution of primogeniture. It turns out that even the lines of both Esau and
Jacob would lose their inheritance, but by grace, during the Great Tribulation,
it will be a Great Day for Shemites as they obtain their portion of the spiritual
inheritance (Rev 21:12).
“Tents” in that verse has two meanings: (1) safe from the
elements in facilities, and (2) safe from the spiritual powers in the invisible
church. Tents, in the wilderness, served the purpose of God worship. Those
tents were like the canopy of the trees in the Garden that stood all around the
Tree of Life in Paradise.
Tabernacle worship mimics worship in the Garden Paradise and
what will be in Heaven (Rev 2:7). When those tents were set facing the Tent in
the middle, that represented Paradise and the Tree of Life (Jesus) in the
midst. Gentiles would be the second sons and live in the tents in which the
Jews lived for so long. In the end, Gentiles and Christians will share those
tents! That is the final “peace on earth” which would come with the second
advent of Jesus; when Jews will regain a piece of their inheritance, and
Gentiles will again live in the tents of Shem.
Why did God not want a House as His Estate? Because His Plan
was to have His “Temple” in the souls of men. Those tree canopies in the Garden
were what God had in mind. He saw those trees as men standing, and they
were His “tents.”
Likewise, those tents in the wilderness were not what was so
important, but the souls looking toward Him standing inside them. The “tents”
since Jesus died, are no longer there, but the souls of men still are! That
Temple is the True Inheritance that God intended all along, and only in the end
will Christians get their material portion. “The meek shall inherit the
Earth and have their abundance of peace” (Psalm 37:11). “Shall” means in due
time… in God’s Time. I believe that shall be on “the eighth day” (eternity)
after God again rests on the seventh day — with His “Millennial Reign.”
Hence, the Abraham Covenant, the Covenant of Pieces, will
not be finalized in that time, this time, but some time in the future. The
names “Jacob” and “Esau” are symbolic of time — Esau the first time period in
the birth process and Jacob the second time in the same. “Birth” is generation.
Their birth signifies regeneration. Just as birth is in two stages, so
is rebirth. Just as Bartimaeus received his sight in two stages, so goes the
blind world!
Tomorrow, we shall look at God’s Time through the eyes of
blind Isaac and the flesh of Rebecca, as God’s time was divided from one into
two.
