One of the most misunderstood things is the concept of prayer. Prayer is
defined to be “an address to God or a god in word or thought” (
Addressing a god is communication with “a being or object that is
worshipped as having more than natural attributes and powers” (ibid). Our
own selves as gods would be mankind’s worst problem (Gen 3:5).
Communication is in union with something that can communicate back for
communication is a two-way process.
Abram destroyed the idols of his father, Terah, because they did nothing
and remained silent, according to the sacred Book of Jasher:
Wo unto my father and this wicked generation,
whose hearts are all inclined to vanity, who serve these idols of wood and
stone which can neither eat, smell, hear nor speak, who have mouths without
speech, eyes without sight, ears without hearing, hands without feeling, and
legs which cannot move; like them are those that made them and that trust in
them. And when Abram saw all these things his anger was kindled against his
father, and he hastened and took a hatchet in his hand, and came unto the
chamber of the gods, and he broke all his father's gods. (Jasher 11:32-33)
The gods built by Terah had no means of communication in either the senses
or activities. Terah’s gods were incommunicative in any manner.
On the other hand, the One True God still communicates in the things that
He does. Ask for and it shall be received, or so said Jesus, “Ask, and it shall
be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you…”
(Mat 7:7). God answers by doing, not in verbal answers, but actions, whereas the
gods of Terah were both silent and inactive.
Note that inaction is also an answer to prayer. If anyone prays for things
not the will of God, then those prayers will not be answered; you are to pray
in this manner, “Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name; Your
kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Mat 6:9-10). For
prayers to ne answered with action from God, He must Will it to be done.
Another cause for unanswered prayer is that the person praying is out of
the will of God. Jesus said, “Now we know that God hears not sinners, but if
any man be a worshipper of God, and does His will, him He hears (John 9:31).
As such, the “lost” — sinners who are not worshipers of God — God does not
hear.
Of course, God is not deaf, but to commune with God is to have commonality
of wills. Your thoughts would be His thoughts since on the converse, the Lord God
said to those who were in rebellion: “My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways” (Isa 55:8). Your thoughts and ways must be in
accord to the will of God. That validates Jesus who said that we must do His
will. You and God must be in union of prayers are to be answered. If sins
have not been repented, then God becomes uncommunicative, and the bequest is
denied by His silence.
The Jews had about four-hundred years of silence in the interval between
the Old and New Testaments because the Jews were out of the will
of God. If prayers continually go unanswered that is a silent Statement of God
that you are away of His divine will.
The anger, or disappointment, of God seems to be expressed by silence. Why
is God not answering prayers? It is not because He does not want to, but your
faith is weak as James wrote, “Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering; for he
that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed, for let
not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord” (Jas 1:6-7).
James pointed not at God for His silence, but at you as the reason for
His silence.
I find myself still sinning throughout the day, or even a week, and wonder
why my prayers go unanswered. For God to commune with you, you must continually
be in Christ.
“In Christ” is not only a theological concept but a scientific one as well.
In Christ is yoked with Him by rebirth. Jesus said to Nicodemus about whom
would obtain the Kingdom of God, “Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5).
I could go into much detail about rebirth, but suffice it to say, rebirth
is your thoughts and ways aligned with God’s thoughts and ways. You cannot give
birth to yourself, so union (or yoga) is nothing but vanity. Yoga is you uniting,
not with an unseen God, but the god you view in the mirrors which reflect you.
The grace of God is you doing nothing but trusting Him, not just for the
duration of the prayer, but continually without ceasing with steadfast faith,
as Paul wrote, “Be you steadfast, unmoveable; always abounding in the work of
the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1
Cor 15:58).
Praying vainly is doing so with little or no faith that it will be
answered. Although God has the Power, for Him to respond to your address to
Him, you must trust Him all the time, not just when in need.
God answers prayer, but His answers depend on your state of being with Him;
you must be born again; always within His will and with His ways in mind.
Rebirth is supernatural and quite unnatural. You are born naturally a sinner
but reborn with God in your mind. Temptations are the ways of the Devil to
distract you from thinking of God. To pray, first mediate to clear the things
of the world from your mind.
Oftentimes I thank God for my food while I can hardly wait to consume it. Hurry
God and take my thanks so that I can appease my fleshly senses! My bet is
that you also pray that hurriedly and vainly.
Jesus said to any who would hear:
Come
unto Me all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest; take My
yoke upon you, and learn of Me for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall
find rest unto your souls; for My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. (Mat 11:28-30)
Now to get scientific; don’t quit now for what God has in mind for you is
at hand. Jesus said, “Take My yoke upon you.” That “yoke” in the English is “zygos”
in the Greek language, a coupling. Science uses that expression as well:
a “zygote” is a “diploid cell resulting from the fusion of two haploid gametes;
a fertilized ovum” (Google® answer) in which the result is “cleavage.”
Zygos would be a “lost” (out
of union) person who finally cleaves to Jesus. Jesus would be available to all
who come to Him, but it is upon you to respond because communion with God is
two-way. “Born again” would be your positive response to God; He is there, but
is upon you to be yoked with Him, since God never forces Himself on anyone as
Calvinism proposes.
The idea of yoking is scientific, not only in biology, but in quantum mechanics,
wherein God is “Almighty God” and the “Quantum Package” — the first cause of
all things.
“Quantum Entanglement” is when two things share some characteristics which
means it is common to both.
Adam would have been entangled with God, El, by Elohim which
emanated from “Father God.” That is not a biological relationship but Adam
sharing the Elohim of God, El.
Adam was yoked to Almighty God by the dynamics of El — Elohim
— the Virtue of God. Adam was to be good as God is good (Mat 19:17). With sin,
no longer was Adam good, but unyoked from God by some form of quantum
decoherence; what we call “iniquity” (Psalm 51:5).
Adam had dominion over God’s other creatures (Gen 1:28), so although they
were created by God, only Adam was yoked with God.
Sin broke the yoke, so God put onto Adam some manner of flesh that would
keep him safe (Gen 3:21), and as such, all of us come short of the glory, or “goodness”
of God and are not yoked with Him unless we are born again.
Those who have not been yoked to God, God does not “hear” because the
dominion of God is not with those who are lost. For God to hear your prayer,
you must come to Him… into His Presence wherein it is not what you say, but
that you are in the act of submission to God.
To be heard requires submission, thus giving up your yoke to the world for
the yoke to God. It is not that you give up Satan directly but his realm as “Prince
of the Power of the Air” (Ephes 2:2).
Just as God is in Christ, you yoked with Christ puts God in you. He is the
Way!
The next commentary will be more about yoking and how that is accomplished,
not by you, but by God.
