THE WAY FOUND

Not clear about my motivation for writing this morning, God surprise me with insight. I was astounded at the hidden knowledge which was revealed to me, and it might astound you as well!

KEY VERSES: And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (Gen 11:5-6)

The Lord came “down,” it says, to see things on the Earth, specifically on the plain of Shinar where a city and a tower were being built.

In the Hebrew “down” is “yarad; יָרַד: yod-resh-dalet —  Yahweh (Yod) emerged (resh) into spacetime and matter (dalet). God had not been up at all but existed in a higher state of Existence, but King Nimrod (“king” from the Book of Jasher), built a tower whose “top” would reach the heavens.

They imagined that they could find the abode of God by the works of their own hands. It would by themselves that they would go to heaven where God could be found.

This is a classic case of works verses faith; rather than rely on God to change their states, they would overcome the firmament themselves.

God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so, and God called the firmament “Heaven.” (Gen 1:7-8)

In simple terms “firmament” (raqia; רָקִיעַ) equals “heaven” (shamayim; שָׁמַיִם). As is explained further, the firmament would be the boundary between earth and heaven (Gen 1:7) — between the material world and the spiritual world. Perhaps the firmament is a wall, or membrane, between the two realms wherein Jesus is the Way, Door, or Portal from one realm to another.

In that case, God coming “down” would not be geocentrically downward, but to a lower state.
In heaven God is Spirit, so God would have simply crossed the firmament via the Door (Jesus). God would have merely suddenly appeared to the people of Shinar as a man.

Jesus would later explain that when God came “down” and revealed Himself as a man:

The Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a Voice came from Heaven, which said, ‘You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22)

Just as the Holy Ghost descended (Greek; katabaino) after Jesus was baptized, God, as the Holy Ghost, did so long ago on the plain of Shinar.

“Kata” denotes movement or diffusion from a higher to a lower level. Baino means “basis.” At the baptism of Jesus, God had not come down from heaven but just appeared from His basic state as the “Father” and the source of the Holy Ghost.

We must fight our inclinations; lofty things in theology are not necessarily from above but beyond this world, our own basis for existence. Heaven is not up nor Hell down; Heaven would be a higher state of existence and Hell, the lowest state of existence.

In both cases: on both the plain of Shinar and on the waters of the Jordan, God appeared to onlookers as a man. It was not that God changed states but always existed in three states in “homeostasis” as katabaino suggests. Jesus was God “made manifest” (John 1:31) on both the plane of Shinar and in the Jordan River on the plain of the Jordan.

God would not need to appear on a mountain in either situation because He does not come down from on high, but a higher state of existence — a higher level of consciousness.

In both cases, God was always fully God and man, but in both cases, the onlookers were revealed that God was both Man and Holy Spirit.

Just as God hid Himself from the eyes of Adam, He later revealed Himself to the people of Shinar and as well as to the Jews on the plain of the Jordan. Being made manifest is not a biological action but a change of state; just as water vapor reveals itself as ice under certain conditions, and of course, God is not temperature dependent but reveals Himself to those who need Him.

The firmament (raqia; רָקִיעַ) could be considered much like a membrane, and with that, the Spirit of God diffused (katabaino) through it makes sense, using the literal meanings of the pictographs from a scientific lens:

·         Resh: emergence of order (through the “door” or diffused)

·         Qof: a hidden dimension (from the realm of Heaven)

·         Ayin: into observation (into the world of seen things)

The “firmament” would not be material but a “boundary” that can only be crossed by the Power of Jesus, just as the Way was after sin when God “drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the Garden of Eden Cherubim, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the Way of the Tree of Life” (Gen 3:24).

Jesus was and is the Way — the continuation of life — and the “Tree.” It seems that the “substance” of the firmament might be the “flaming sword;” so let’s check that for veracity:

lahaṭ (לַ֫הַט) cherub (הַחֶרֶב) wherein the first letter hey before cherub is a silent breath representing expansion.

Lahat (לַ֫הַט)

Lamed: instruction

Hey: expansion (as with fire)

Tet: energy potential (the Power of God, Elohim)

Note that Lahat compares well with the Holy Ghost that appeared at Pentecost:

Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind (hey), and it filled (expansion) all the house (Bet) where they were sitting, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire (the hey made manifest), and it sat upon each of them (with Power Tet). (Acts 2:2-3)

The Acts of God therein is the Way to the eternal Tree of Life. The “expansion” corresponds very well with the “diffusion” of katabaino.

Cherub (הַחֶרֶב)

The first hey is silent and is the Breath of God for all things are God-breathed and the Way is breathed by God.

Chet: boundary

Resh: emergence

Bet: From spacetime and matter into the House of God (Paradise in incorruptible flesh)

The “flaming sword” to cross over the Way back to the Garden of the Lord would be lahat — with the Powerful Word of God and cherub — the crossing over from the material world to the spiritual world. Cherub would be the process and cherubim the flow of Power to pass from one state of existence to another.

As much trouble as it is to analyze the pictographs, you may now see that it explains in great detail how the world (the science) is overcome by God.

Those 3000 who received the Power of God during Pentecost found the way, unlike Nimrod with his “rocket” but by the cherubim that appeared as flaming swords at Pentecost.

That they spoke in common tongues was evidence of the Power, and not the Power itself. It was not by their works but faith in the Power of God.

On the other hand, Nimrod depended on his own power and his own devices to find God. The Way is not just escaping this world like astronauts but overcoming the world from a lower to a higher state of existence through Almighty God!

WHY JOHN THE BAPTIST ATE SPECIFIC FOOD

Next, we shall investigate the strange food that John ate.

Words mean things, especially in holy writings. In the previous commentary, you discovered the significance of John wearing clothes of camel’s hair. In fact, there may be another component. John was born a son of God in the manner of Adam. What did God do for Adam?

And Adam called his wife's name Eve because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them. (Gen 3:20-21)

There is somehow a connection between the two verses above. Because Eve was the mother of all;, somehow her and his kind would need coats of skin. Literally, flesh was put upon what once were glorious bodies. Glorified bodies are ones without flesh. The faculty of the flesh made Adam and His wife like the other beasts, and they would reproduce in the manner of the other beasts God would multiply her labor bringing forth children. (Gen 3:15). They had not become gods, but beasts, so God covered them in the same manner.

Since John was born glorified, he came wearing camel’s hair; and that was to cover his glorious flesh. The best bet is that beneath that camel’s hair was a glorified naked man. Perhaps God did not want that special man to outshine Jesus; for the people might think that he was indeed God Himself, or perhaps the “Bringer of Light” — Lucifer. After all, they surmised that he was Elijah, and without the Garment of God on his body, their imaginations might wander to other kinds of beings.

The skin that Adam wore is called by theologians, “The Garment of Adam.” It was most certainly to fend off the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephes 6:16).  Perhaps John‘s garment was of the same fabric. Perhaps the Garment of Adam was camel’s hair, or perhaps God provided the Holy Ghost in the fabric of camel’s hair for both Adam and John.

Could it be that the garment of the hair of the camel signified the letter gimmel, as was written earlier. The hair would be the “footprint” that Jews could understand.

So, not only could the coat be for symbolic reasons, but also for practical reasons; perhaps to make John the “beast” like them and to reveal the “camel” beneath the hair, the “camel” being the Holy Ghost that John wore. Indeed, the Power of John was robbed of him just as with Samson when his hair was cut down to his neck. This time “Samson” would not just grow more hair, because his head was severed, and all his strength was gone.

Did John grow his hair back? When Jesus was crucified, dry bones came out of their graves (Ezek 37), just as Ezekiel foresaw, “The graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after His resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many” (Mat 27:52-53). Not only did John get his hair back, but if he was resurrected with Jesus, John also got his head back, and because of the Virtue that Jesus lost at the crucifixion, John was made whole again! [1]

The coat of Camel’s hair probably represented “The Comforter” who was in the person of John beneath the coat of hair. According to John 14:6, The Comforter is the Holy Ghost that remained as the Body of Christ ascended.

Of course, this commentary is more so about the food that John ate: wild honey and locusts (Mat 3:4).

Albeit John was glorious because he was born with the Holy Spirit in his person, his food would have been glorious as well. It appears that the food of Adam’s kind was not herbs but literally “glossy” things, as can be seen when examining the Hebrew from the English version below:

God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” (Gen 1:29)

Adam was given seeds to eat from both the ground and trees. The “glossy” thing found in scripture is manna from heaven which was like hoar frost on the ground (Exod 16:14). Manna was the “meat” for the Israelites.

The Garden Paradise was “heaven” so the food, or meat, therein might very well have been manna that required no digestion. In The First Book of Adam and Eve, it is written that while in the Garden, Adam and his wife had no digestive tracts. Glorious bodies would consume only things that would not decay. Manna just disappeared after the Israelites had eaten enough without any sort of decay. Manna is divine food.

Manna in the Hebrew is written only mem-vav. Mem characterizes either blood, water, or both.

Jesus, according to the other John, said that salvation was not by blood alone, but both blood and water (1 John 5:6). Hence, salvation is by the letter mem. Manna is mem-vav where the vav means either the Messiah or man since its number is man (six).

Manna is then both the blood and the water from the Messiah for mankind. That divine food was from “The Tree of Life” from which Adam’s kind could eat, and as “vines” of that Tree, they too could eat from any other tree but the one forbidden (Gen 2:16-17).

Adam’s kind, as sons of God, could eat only shiny things from trees. Therefore, wild honey from trees were the “meat” of John. It is the glossy thing that nourishes glorious mankind. Wild honey is not only nourishing but local wild honey life-preserving. The wild honey might be symbolic of manna from heaven.

Locusts are more difficult. As it turns out, locusts are the only insect that God ordained to be good for food (Lev 11:22).

Throughout scripture, most memorably, locusts are used by God to reveal His Almighty Power. Before the exodus, locusts ate the crops of the Egyptians.

Locusts are one of the few animals that when they eat seeds, they are entirely consumed. Locusts do not spread any seed in their feces. Locusts spread pheromones, not life itself.

(Pheromones) Specifically, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) within the feces play a role in attracting other locusts, contributing to the formation of swarms. (AI Overview)

God knew that long before AI. John ate locusts to spread pheromones. Plain old John attracted many people to the Jordan. Locust food may have been an attractive agent. In other words, God could have used locusts again to spread His Power just as He gave the dromedary camel an inflatable “love sac” to attract female camels; “This sac, along with loud gurgling noises, is a visual and auditory display used to attract females and assert dominance over other males” (ibid).

So, not only does the camel hair represent the camel but the spreading of love as well. The locust is like manna from heaven whose feces are not detrimental at all but beneficial.

When words appear in the Bible, they all mean something. God, unlike mankind, does not use filler material to embellish the story. When The Word says, “camel’s hair” and “locusts,” it is there for very significant reasons, often symbolic, but sometimes literal.

John, as a Nazarite, could not touch a dead body, but locusts were not “meat” that would decay but meat that would spread good tidings. The eating of locusts would not diminish John like the killing of both lions and men long ago diminished Samson while using the jawbone of a donkey.

Samson was using a dead animal to cause death, so that was why he lost the Nazarite in himself.

Hopefully, now, you know more about John the Baptist. He was true to form and a man of God like Jesus but not the Messiah. He prepared the Way for the real baptism, and that was the Baptism of Jesus who seemed to have never baptized by water but by “Living Water” alone (Ephes 4:5). That mode is the real baptism, and it is of the Holy Ghost of Jesus.

John prepared the Way by washing of the flesh, but Jesus was The Way by washing the inward man.

[1] John would have been one of the many saints that might have been resurrected with Jesus. Calvary as “the place of the skull” and that applied to both the skull of Adam and the skull of John who were both saints. For more about the place of the skull refer to my book, The Skull of Adam.”

MEANING OF THE AUSTERE APPEARANCE OF JOHN THE BAPTIST

John was certainly not ordinary and neither was Jesus. While it was commonly known that Jesus was royalty and known as “the son of David,” He was also known as a worker, not necessarily a carpenter but a tradesman in general. He became known as a doctor of the physique, not by learning, but by knowing. Those who were healed trusted Jesus, not because of any education, but because He fixed things, and made those broken whole again.

It is well-known that John was a Nazarite, but just what is a “Nazarite?” God identifies the activities of a Nazarite:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying, “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, “When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the Lord,  he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.’

‘All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.; all the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separates himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.’

‘All the days that he separates himself unto the Lord, he shall come at no dead body. He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God is upon his head.’

‘All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord, and if any man die very suddenly by him, and he has defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.’” (Num 6:1-9)

John would have been the epitome of austerity (very strict in all things). He would not fit in with the crowd, yet the crowd came to him for spiritual needs. God knew that a flashy salesman would not be effective, so He sent a godly man. In this age, Christians prefer pomp and flashiness. That is the nature of the “Beast, “Lucifer (Isa 14:12-14).

John lived apart from others throughout his life. That was him living the life of a Nazarite.

He knew no sin. John was believed to be an Essene — a faction of Judaism that were austere and separate from the others and who lived in the Qumran community east of Jerusalem.

God picked a clean person to perform the vow of the Nazarite onto others. Baptism is very much like becoming a Nazarite. Baptism is a vow of separation from those of the world. If John could do it, anyone could if they trusted Jesus.

John and Jesus had an affinity for each other. Science would say that they were “entangled” from birth. According to Gabriel, the angel of God, both John and Jesus shared the Holy Spirit of God even before they were born.

To avoid King Archelaus, the family of Jesus removed themselves from Judea to Galilee for a reason, “He came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, ‘He shall be called a Nazarene.’ (Mat 2:23).

Although of the same root, some deny that there is a connection between the words Nazarite and Nazarene. Whereas a Nazarite is one who is separated from the things of the world, Jesus separated Himself from His people. Jesus was a Nazarene and indeed He was separated from the world all His life. In fact, Jesus was the ultimate Nazarite for He overcame the world (John 16:33).

Some call wine “Jesus Juice.” Nowhere in the New Testament is it written that Jesus drank wine. He was accused of doing so, but accusations are mere conjecture. (On many occasions because I was seen in wrong places, people thought I was a drinker of alcoholic beverages. Like Jesus, I am not.)

Like John, Jesus lived separated from the world, both in Egypt then in Galilee, and like John who came out to baptize, Jesus came out to be baptized.

John was a proxy for Jesus until Jesus would come out. The baptism of Jesus was not to show that John and Jesus were not the same, but that John and Jesus were very different persons; so, different that John baptized with water, and Jesus, “living water.” Whereas John prepared the way for Jesus, Jesus was the Way (John 14:16).

John followed the Nazarite ordination to a tee, never even touching a dead person. Jesus, never saw anyone as “dead’ and touched them to make them alive again. John could not do that; he could bring the dead to the water, but only Jesus could make them alive again.

The strength of a Nazarite was in the hair. John was much like Samson, but he was not shorn until he died. To rob John of his almighty power, his hair would require cutting.

Whereas Delilah cut the hair of Samson, Salome cut the hair of John, so short, that his strength could not return. Salome had learned the story of Samson and Delilah quite well and would not repeat her mistake as the Bible reveals:

Whereupon he (Herod) promised with an oath to give her (Salome) whatsoever she would ask, and she, being before instructed of her mother, said, “Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger,” and the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. (Mat 14:7—9)

The leaders went one step further with Jesus, decapitation would not end the worship of Him; so, they cut His Power into, dividing the Body from the Spirit of God within Him. That is the shortest Power haircut on record. By doing so, they seemed to have cut with more precision than either Delilah or Salome. They had become the “Tektons” in place of Jesus, or so they thought.

But they did not cut the hair of Jesus! However, they did cut His Power, but like Samson, the Power of Jesus returned in His “prison” — the tomb.

In all respects, both John and Jesus were Nazarites cut from the same pattern — the “pattern” that was God; and them in the images of God. Whereas John’s power was limited to washing the outward men and women, the Power of Jesus was washing them inwardly. John’s assignment was to wash them on the outside, and Jesus on the inside. Both were clean to do that because John would have washed Himself to remain a Nazarite, and Jesus was without sin.

John was born clean and remained clean because of the vow of the Nazarite, but Jesus made Himself dirty with all the sins of mankind to deliver them to Hell so that we need not do so themselves. Jesus broke the vow of the Nazarite for us by becoming unclean along with mankind. John refused to be the “cup” (or vessel) that Jesus must be.

Matthew wrote this about John the baptizer:

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand for this is He that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, ‘The Voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare you the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.’”

And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, and were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. (John 3:1-6)

Baptism was essentially sinners confessing their sins. To be clean of sin inwardly, they had to be cleansed outwardly first because of the words of Jesus:

Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. (Mat 9:17)

John was the “bottle washer” and the blood of Jesus the “New Wine.” The “Wine” of Jesus indeed had spirits within but not the kind you might think, to wit: “The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Jesus) was made a quickening Spirit” (1 Cor 15:45). In like manner, John was a living soul with the Spirit of God breathed unto him at birth, so he was a mere man. Jesus, however, was the “Bottle” for the new Wine — the quickening Spirit. Jesus was not just a man but a vessel for God to live in.  John was not.

John did not wear a garment of camel’s hair because he was poor or even shoddy. The Bactrian camel, shown in the photograph below, was not a normal camel in Judea; the Bactrian camel was not of that area; the Dromedary was the norm in Judea.

John wore the clothing made from the Bactrian camel; and that was doubly unordinary as he was an unordinary man.

Figure 1: Bactrian Camel

Camels in theology are symbolic. The Hebrew letter “gimmel” is the footprint of the camel. Implied is that the footprint of the camel could be seen but the camel itself not seen. In other words, the footprint, as any tracker knows, is the evidence of a camel. That fits scripture as well:

The invisible things of Him (God) from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power. (Rom 1:20)

Like the track of a camel proves that a camel exists, clothing made from camel’s hair proves that the camel was once inside that clothing. Just as the gimmel indicates that the camel (gamel) exists, the covering of the gamel indicates that the missing gamel existed.

John was not the camel nor the Holy Ghost but represented the coming Holy Ghost. In Hebrew, the camel’s track represents the Holy Ghost following both the aleph and the bet.

The aleph, or “el” represents the Power of God. The birth of both John and Jesus reflects that. When John leaped in the womb of his mother upon seeing Mary with Jesus within her womb, that was the Power of God that made John leap. He recognized from the womb that he was entangled with Jesus by the Power of God.

Next comes the Bet. John said that Jesus preceded himself although He came after (John 1:30). That has significance because the bet comes before the gimmel in the Hebrew aleph-bet and the bet points toward the gimmel.

Jesus is the Bet — the House of God; or the vessel, cup, or clean “bottle.” He came before John in Power (the Aleph) but after John in Body (Bet).

John was the character of the gamel but was not the true gamel. He was the footprint (gimmel) of the “gamel” to come that housed the Spirit of God. He wore gamel hair to characterize his place outside the Godhead; that he was not the gamel, but just the footprint, preparing the Way for the real gamel Himself.

The gamel is a living object. So is Jesus. In his absence, the gamel is not there, but leaves a footprint (gimmel) — “I AM the Way” (John 14:16) — and although Jesus is not with us, His footprints are. The Way leads to life, and the missing gamel knows the Way to eternal life. Follow its footprints in the sand, and we too can go the Way of Christ.

Jesus is no longer with us, but His footprint remains as the Holy Ghost — characterized by the letter “gimmel.”

Among other animals, the camel represents Jesus who carries us as His load and kneels to us (to “bless” means kneeling). With the Body of God no longer with us, He is with us in Spirit. The Holy Ghost is represented by the letter gimmel indicating that the gamel itself was once here with us.

The footprints of Jesus are all over the world. It is as if Jesus is here in quickening Spirit riding on the mountain atop the back of the gamel, leaving footprints here for us to follow.

So, John was not so ordinary. He was the footprint of the coming camel — Jesus himself.

Next, we shall investigate the strange food that John ate.

THE MISSION OF JOHN THE BAPTIST

 JOHN THE BEACON FOR JESUS:

John the Baptist was an unusual man. First off, his birth was unusual as Luke recorded the words of the angel of God, Gabriel:

For he (John the Baptist) shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb…

And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Elias (Elijah), to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

And Zacharias said unto the angel, “Whereby shall I know this?” for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

And the angel answering said unto him, “I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto you, and to show you these glad tidings…” (Luke 15:22)

John added some more information:

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. He was not that Light but was sent to bear witness of that Light. (John 1:6-8)

John was not Elijah the prophet who had been taken away in a whirlwind. He was like Elijah in the sense that he was filled with the Spirit in the womb with the Power of that “Whirlwind.”

Luke also validated that assumption, “Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting… And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost… (Acts 2:2,3).  The Holy Ghost was like a whirlwind, or as Yahweh revealed Himself as a pillar of a cloud and a pillar of fire (Exod 13:21), indicating His Divine Power in a different shape.

The Power of God in the form of a Whirlwind filled John in the womb. John was just a vessel that embodied the Holy Ghost until Jesus would come to be filled with the Holy Ghost when John baptized Him with the Power of Yahweh.

John was a proxy for the coming Messiah, and once Jesus was readied, John was no longer needed.

Luke also wrote about that; “The Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon (Jesus), and a Voice came from heaven, which said, ‘You are My beloved Son; in you I Am well pleased.’” (Luke 3:22).

It appears that the Holy Ghost in the bodily shape of John left John and came into Jesus, thus ending the need for the baptism of John by water. Jesus was the first to be baptized by the same spirit with which John was baptized, so thereafter, the “one baptism” with any efficacy was the Baptism by God’s Voice from heaven where God resides. Paul wrote about the one true baptism:

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Ephes 4:4-6)

Long ago, Elijah preceded the prophet, Elisha. “And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal” (2 Kings 2:1). The Holy Ghost in the form of a Whirlwind left Elijah and came into Elisha in the same manner as John with Jesus.

Therefore, John was not “Elijah” who appeared later at the transfiguration, but was antitypical of Elijah and Jesus of Elisha, himself. It was never understood that it was not the prophets that were of interest but in whom was the “Whirlwind.”

Just as Elisha was “baptized” by Elijah, Jesus was baptized God from the presence of John. He was the only one who was baptized efficaciously. John was the “yod”(hand) that provided the “el” (power) of the Father.

John the Baptism said about Jesus:

I knew Him not: but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, “Upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizes with the Holy Ghost.” (John 1:33)

Note that John baptized everybody else with water, but only Jesus was baptized with the Holy Ghost, by the “wave,” in “bodily shape,” as Luke saw it.

It seems that John was the “vessel” of the Holy Ghost for a purpose, and it was long enough for the Holy Ghost to leave his body and remove itself to Jesus. John facilitated the baptism of Jesus, but like John Himself, Jesus was baptized by the Holy Ghost.

Baptisms by John were for repentance, so that sins could be remitted (Mark 1:4), albeit the Baptism of the Holy Ghost emanating from the Body of the Lord God remitted (extracted) the sins. Water never extracted the sins from anyone as the Living Waters from the Holy Ghost from the “Belly” of Jesus (John 7:38) can only do that!

John had to die because the real Light (Jesus) came like a Whirlwind in bodily shape. John said about Jessus, “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but He that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire” (Mat 3:11).

Since John was not worthy to bear the shoes of Jesus, he would not be worthy of baptizing for Jesus. Hence, baptism by water was not for the remittance (extraction) of sins, but preparation for the Holy Ghost to extract them!

John confirmed that his baptism was the cleansing of the flesh for it to be clean for the coming Holy Ghost. The baptism of John just washed “old bottles” to make them as clean as new ones in preparation for the “Wine” to come as indicated by Jesus when He said, “Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runs out, and the bottles perish, but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved” (Mat 9:17).

John was washing the vessels for the “New Wine” — the Holy Ghost. Jesus supplied the New Wine when the Holy Ghost poured from His belly unto the vessels of others. His was more than just a “cup” but a vessel ample enough to contain Living Water for all who would drink of it.

So, the announcement about John and Jesus should make sense; neither were Elijah nor Elisha but “vessels” for containing God, carrying the Holy Spirit to another in the case of John  and for Jesus, for all others, to wit:

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, and saying, “Repent you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is He that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, “The Voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare you the way of the Lord, make His paths straight, and the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. (Mat 3:1-4)

John, for a time, spoke for God. He annunciated “The Word” of God as a proxy for Jesus until God would ready Him. However, Jesus was “The True Word” as John indicated and His baptizing the “One Baptism” that remains on converts.

Hence, the nature of John was supernatural. He was a Nazarite in the mode of Samson, born with the Spirit of God and this time “Samson” did not drink, touch the dead, and nor ever cut his hair. John fulfilled God’s expectations of Samson, the difference that John never failed Him.

Jesus was the “True Light” (John 1:8 above) but John bear witness of the Light of Jesus. (John 1:7).

Think of an approaching automobile. A car coming at a distance pops over a hill and bears witness that it is an automobile that is coming.

An automobile is recognized by its two bright lights, so that the driver knows a car is approaching. Lights on the face of vehicles are for two reasons: (1) To warn that a vehicle is there and (2) that the light is real, and that its form is an automobile.

John was the “vehicle” that warned that some “Body” was coming, and that the one coming was as real as the light from the headlamps. However, the first light was for safety but the coming Light was the real Holy Thing as Luke also wrote:

The Holy Ghost shall come upon you, and the Power of the Highest shall overshadow you: therefore, also that Holy Thing which shall be born of you shall be called “The Son of God.” (Luke 1:35)

John bear the light of God but Jesus was The Holy Thing! John could not make anyone holy with his water, but The Holy Thing could.

Therefore, the purpose of John has been explained, but his appearance has not, other than that He carried the divine Light that would soon reveal the person, Jesus, who was the True Light. The next commentary will examine his unusual appearance.

THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING

What is gravity; from where did it come? Wikipedia says: “gravity is the most significant interaction between objects at the macroscopic scale, and it determines the motion of planets, stars, galaxies, and even light… particle physics imply that the earliest instance of gravity in the universe, possibly in the form of quantum gravity, supergravity or a gravitational singularity, along with ordinary space and time”

Science is in search of “the theory of everything.”
For whom they search, theists have found. God is “the truth of everything:”
John 1:3
All things were made by him (God) and without him was not any thing made that was made.
God is “ALMIGHTY;” literally that means He “deals violently!”
God is the “QUANTUM” that shook all things instantaneously (Planck’s Epoch) that caused quantum gravity to hold things in their places perfectly.
Now consider “the truth of everything:”
Job 11:7
Can you by searching find out God? can you find out the Almighty unto perfection?
Revelation 11:17 (KJV)
Saying, We give you thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because you have taken to yourself your great power, and has reigned.
The QUANTUM “Almighty “ God was the source of power that in no time created all things then held them in place by His gravity (weightiness).
“In the creation, time did not exist,” according to Michio Kaku.
“Weightiness” in the Hebrew is “kabod.” It is translated “glory.”
The glory of God is “the theory of everything “ for which science searches.
What is gravity? The glory of God; His perfection that makes and holds things in their places.
“A quantum is the minimum amount of any physical entity involved in an interaction” (Ibid).
The QUANTUM is the action that started everything. The “Super Gravity” or Almightiness of the “Virtual Particle” that alone existed before all things.
The “Entity” or “Existence” (Jehovah) is the QUANTUM, or one true Entity, that used gravity to make all things and hold them in their places.
God used His weak force field in a great amount of quanta to overcome the strong force fields in sub-atomic particles to make atoms and Adams.

The glory of God from the New Testament would be the virtue (dynamos). His "Dynamic" was almighty good works... "very good" (Gen 1:29). The glory of God is His virtue that made all things good and held them in their places. It is the gravity that provided order along geodesic time/space lines. It is the Virtue that God used to make sinners whole again and to hold them in their places by faith, the glorious gift of God.
