Election Results and Christianity

God does not endorse political parties, yet God defines evil. God does endorse political systems and ours is not that! However, America comes fairly close in intent with the government of the Judges. God provided the Book of Law (The Pentateuch) and directed the process of equal justice. Much of our U.S. Judicial Branch is a slight variation of the way of the judges which God ordained. However, one big difference is that God's judges were righteous men and America's judges are political.

With that said, God does encourage nations to do what is right in his eyes! "The nation" is the totality of the people within it! Each individual provides an ideology which becomes the belief system of the nation. Individuals do matter!

Jeremiah 18:8 "If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them."

How do nations "turn from their evil". People harmonize God's will with their corporate actions. If most people in a nation lives righteously, the nation becomes a righteous nation! Judah failed to listen. So has America! Judah fell into oblivion because the nation turned to evil. Those who worshiped God turned to other idols, not abandoning God, but having "other gods before him"!

America too is the totality of it's individuals. In past elections even Christians have voted for "other gods". Christians are responsible because they joined hands with the heathen and voted for candidates who "do evil in the sight of the Lord". What is the evil of which I write? Unlimited sexual freedom, abortion, same-sex marriage, euthanasia, suppression of religious freedom, feminism, social justice, and opaqueness in government. Christians voted for our society to "change"! However, they were deceived, as Christians are prone to be, by the carrot of "hope". Hope does not lie in the government, but in the Lord!

Psalm 42:11 "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God."

Hope in God makes us healthy and joyful. Although a government system is necessary for order, the order must be toward righteousness. Just as in the days of old in America "everyone does what's right in their own eyes". That's too much liberty and leads to destruction. Righteousness must be preserved or God will allow us to fall at our own hands!

I've spoken before of God's deal with mankind. The pact was signed with Abraham. If nations do what's righteous they will prosper. If they do what's evil God will allow them to self-destruct! When a nation is righteous God puts a protective hedge around the people. America's hedge has for some time been trimmed too short. We keep telling the gardener to trim it shorter, pushing the limits with God, and God has allowed us to suffer our own actions. That hedge is now so short that behaviors which are an abomination are encouraged and women throw their children into the fire of Molech. Even Christian women sacrifice their own children to sexual pleasure and the men allow it. Even if Christians protect their own, they vote for politicians who favor abortion. In doing so they trade their values for only a PROMISE of economic prosperity. They become accomplices in murder and lasciviousness in exchange for false hope!

Rarely is the  PROMISE fulfilled while the evil which was made in trade grows like kudzu! If only Christians believed God who promised prosperity in exchange for obedience!

As we can't depend on government to provide hope, neither can we depend on political parties! No party is righteous, but some are indeed evil. One can see "The Party of Evil" by looking at their "Party Platform" and how their members vote! Although the Republican Party is far from righteous, the Democrat Party (according to their platform) is in fact evil. Why do Christians vote for politicians of a party which proudly display policies which should be anathema to Christians? They are not in obedience to God. They seem to have a disconnect. That disconnect is deceit. Satan plants rationalizations into their gullible minds and they fall for lies!

Now we are faced with a new political structure. Many of those candidates in the Republican party profess Christianity. Christians must watch that they too place their hope in what's right and be uncompromising in their negotiations. If they go the way of evil, they too will become evil. Temptation will be there. Many non-Christian people cast their votes. They deserve representation, but this is a chance to do what is right and convince those skeptics that America will prosper with obedience and obedience is doing what's right!
