Difficult Verse #4
The Mount of Transfiguration
The Mount of Transfiguration
By Pastor David Stogsdill
Matthew 17:1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
Matthew 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
Matthew 17:3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
It is hard for many to fathom that those from the OT are alive and well. Elijah never saw death, and Moses’ body was contended for by Satan. God won that battle, and both Moses and Elijah appeared before Jesus and these three disciples to demonstrate that the Law and the Prophets knew, acknowledged and accepted Jesus Christ as the coming Messiah. Moses and Elijah will appear again during the tribulation to once more make their claim that the Word of God points to Jesus as the only Saviour for man.
Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
