Now for the key verses again:
11 I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. 12 And God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. (Gen 9:11-16)
Noah found grace, he trusted God, he endured to the end, then God blessed
him. His blessing was a covenant. Then without the water, God covered
him with a bow. Of course, that is a rainbow but protection as well. (Strong’s
Dictionary). Theretofore Noah would be
protected by the bow of God… a “bow in the Cloud” specifically. God manifested
Himself in the world as a cloud by day and a fire by night.[i]
The rainbow would be the Comforter for Noah and his seed. [ii]
The rainbow is a symbol of hope, and that would be “the hope of salvation.” [iii]
But did not the water save them, or even the Ark? The Ark kept them safe from
the water, but Satan had not been sucked down the drain. He lived again in
Canaan. Salvation would not occur until the Devil is thrown into the bottomless
pit! Then righteous mankind shall be saved.
“But,” you say, “that is very Armenian of you!” No, that is very scriptural.
Noah and family would still have to endure to the end and Canaanites would provide
“troubled waters” unto this day! Indeed, the land of Israel has had its time of
glories and its time of troubles.
To overcome the world, Noah’s kind would need a Protector against Satan
inside Canaan. God volunteered to do that so that his new creatures would not be
on their own against the wiles of the Canaanites. So, He made a covenant. Study
it carefully: “The bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I
may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature.”
“The Cloud” is God. He shall carry the bow. It would not be a rainbow nor an archer’s bow, but a sword, to wit: “The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephes 6:17). The ritual sword would be made like the one in figure #1. It is symbolic of the Word of God.
God’s “bow” was a promise to preserve mankind until man is saved from the
Wicked One. That sword is the hope of eternal life.
God used the same “bow” to create life in Eve: “And the Lord God caused a
deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and
closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken
from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” (Gen 2:21-22). “Rib”
is symbolism. The exact word is “tsela” in the Hebrew. It can mean many
things, including rib, but also a curved plank or literally, a curve of a body.
(ibid).
Males of Adam’s kind are not missing a rib. Surely, Adam had breathed life
from his curved side unto Eve just as God had done with him. [iv]
Out of God’s belly flows living water. [v]
Out of the side of Jesus flowed water that provided life. God had done it again!
Just as He had created Adam, He re-created mankind. His living water had provided life to Adam’s
kind!
The “bow” is not truly then a sign that waters have receded, but that the
Holy Spirit saves. The rainbow was more symbolic of living water beneath the
Cross of Jesus than it was the cessation of perishing by the waters of the
flood!
Theologians have created two Testaments. However, the Old and the
New Testament are one! The Noahic Covenant is an “everlasting covenant between
God and every living creature.” It would be the Covenant of Grace that Jesus
carried.
What was finished on the Cross? Jesus had “probated” the Noahic Covenant,
the Adamic Covenant, the Abrahamic Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, and the
Priestly Covenant. They were all probated with one swish of the bow of Longinus
when Jesus poured out His guts for Adam’s kind. That Covenant, as everlasting, remains
in effect until the end. When one sees the blade that Longinus pierced God with,
the “Cloud” over Jesus that day gave way to hope! As “everlasting,” Adam’s kind
must sill see the bow! It remains with us as the Word of God.
The Noahic Covenant contained a promise: “The waters shall no more become
a flood to destroy all flesh.”
Just what does destroy the “old creature,” the flesh, in men? “If any man
be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new” (2 Cor 5:17). How can anyone be “in Christ?” Paul
answered that: “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on
Christ” (Gal 3:27). It is not the water that puts on Christ, but baptism
with the Holy Ghost of Christ! They shall be covered by Living Waters from the
belly of Jesus — His rib cage… His “bow.”
What happens with water baptism — the baptism of John? “Do you not know
that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his
death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death…” (Rom 6:3-4).
Water still kills! The baptism in deep water perishes the flesh. It is outside
the turbulence of the water wherein there is life. Water baptism as in the days
of Noah perishes the corruptible flesh. To be preserved, Jesus must be put
on!
Paul wrote, “One Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Ephes 4:5). That one is
the baptism of the Holy Ghost of Jesus with Living Waters (the Holy Ghost from
the belly of Jesus). Jesus, because there is “one Lord.”
How many Lords were with Noah? Two? Satan was Lord of Canaan. Water seems
to be the “Lord” of those who believe that water can save. As in the days of
Noah, [vi]
many still do not understand that water destroys!
God (The Word, Jesus) told Noah, “This is the token of the covenant which
I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for
perpetual generations.” All living creatures includes all of mankind, not just
for then, but perpetually. What occurred with Noah and his seed pertains
to us as well; we are Noah’s seed that God planted in the New World. It remains
the Blood and Water of Jesus that is soterial and water still destroys all
flesh. Nothing has changed because the Noahic Covenant is the Covenant of Grace.
That is known because, “Noah found
grace!” (Gen 6:8).
Now you know who saved mankind and who did not. What saved mankind and
what destroyed. Since it is perpetual, then the same Person and Process is used
to this day!
