I am surprised at the number of churched people who have so little faith in the LORD GOD. Essentially, trusting the LORD GOD so little is elevating others to godhood. In whom does your faith lie? The government; the scientists; the media; or your misled friends? Do you value yourself and your family more than God? If so, then that is sinful!
I have family that I love immensely. I love them so much that I desire that none of them shall perish. Of course, I do not want them to suffer physically and die, but I had rather them die right now than go to an eternal spiritual death. With that said, the flesh is more important to so many rather than the spirit. Where the flesh goes is independent of faith for all shall die. Death is inevitable, but there is a choice whether to die spiritually or not.
Who would ever choose spiritual death and who would be so silly as to risk even fatalism — the end of existence… to a state of nothingness. Those who fail to trust in God as paramount to anything else are gamblers; and be forewarned that the odds are always stacked in favor of the “House.” God will win! Will you win or lose with the House of God?
If you deny that God is God, then you are not due the “House’s” rewards. If you are a gambler, you must understand that the house has the money to pay you and that if payment of a loser is not forthcoming, the house can own you for their pleasure, usually incarceration.
You must always play to the rules of the house, and
God has His own set of rules.
“And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth.” (Exod 23:13)
God made that rule. It is the LORD GOD whose “House” rules. Never complain that some other rule is fair. As such, the reward goes to those who trust God for the win rather than the government or even the church. “Social justice” is so offensive to God that Isaiah said this about that: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags” (Isa 64:6)
The rich young ruler desired the rewards and asked Jesus, 18 “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus listed the last of the commandments — things that He could and could not do. The man defended himself, 21 “All these I have kept from my youth.” To which Jesus pointed out that he had not followed Him because of his love of money and possessions (Luke 18:18-30). His wealth was not his God; he himself was, and wealth was to merely appease the young ruler.
The ruler had revealed his innermost man to God. The young man said that he had preserved (phylassō) the poor and oppressed. The Name, Jesus, is “Ya(weh) Preserves” but here was the ruler who indicated that he preserved! The government with him in charge ruled. It was his social justice that he believed in, or essentially since he was the “ruler,” he believed in himself.
According to the verse above, the young man should not even have mentioned “I have kept.” He should have kept his mouth shut! He did not outright say, “I” (ego in the Greek), but he just as well have credited his ego. The ruler was egotistical, it was what his government and he had done for others, not how he had followed God!
If you are depending on what the government thinks is good for you and the free stuff that it offers, then it is the government that you trust.
