ON MERELY COUPLING

The regulations following the Ten Commandments are not “suggestions” nor are they options. The Ten Commandments are ways to demonstrate to God the person’s fidelity and love:

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (1 John 5:2-3)

The obvious thing, from that, is if there is no obedience, there must be no love, either for God nor others! The regulations after the Commandments are metrics, not for God to evaluate you, but for you to measure yourselves with God’s “measuring sticks.”

One of the most blatant displays of disrespect for God is very much prevalent today as it was in the days of Noah — “And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife” (Exod 22:16). Now let us examine the meaning of that in expository.

When I read “a man” I thought that the Hebrew word “adam” would be there to indicate a human being. Not so! The word is eesh — a great man, ostensibly with high integrity. A “weasel” or perhaps a “snake” of a man would entice a maid.

Entice is to persuade or seduce a maid. A lesser man would use his cunning to persuade a maid to lie with him for obvious reasons. Maid, in this context, is a virgin. What is this beginning to sound like?

Now the Serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (Gen 3:1)

Lucifer, a little “lesser” than a real man, not in stature but in his image, seduced the virgin, Eve. Of course, because Jesus had flesh, he was lesser than the angels who did not (Psalm 8:5). However, nowhere in scripture does it say that angels were made in the image of God, but most certainly Adam was the very image of his Father in all respects.

But was Eve a maid? Most certainly because she had not to that point been defiled by man nor beast. That brings up a second regulation that comes soon after the former: “Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death” (Exod 22:19).

The question remains Did Eve lie with the image of Lucifer, translated “serpent?” The evidence of that is that Cain was “of the Wicked One” (1 John 3:12). Before the original sin there was no carnal knowledge, just the good righteous knowledge with which the first two humans were endowed. As such, something must have changed with original sin.

Eve was created from the “curved side” of Adam, not specifically his rib as was translated. Adam, like God before him, may have breathed life unto Eve. That would indicate that divine knowledge would multiply mankind, perhaps by God’s Spirit overshadowing Eve as His “Shadow” much later overshadowed the virgin, Mary (Luke 1:35).

When Eve sinned, what “fruit” did she “eat”? Certainly, Eve ate of a fig since she was under a fig tree, but “fruit” could also be actions (Strong’s Dictionary). She behaved in an evil manner. That Cain was of the Wicked One implies one of two things: (1) That Lucifer overshadowed her, or (2) that Lucifer gave her carnal knowledge. It was not eating the seed of the fruit that reduced the virgin to an “adulteress” (one meaning of the name “Eve;” ibid) but taking in the seed of the Serpent. Perhaps not a “beast” inside of Lucifer but a nature or characteristic in the blood.

Prior to sin, Eve was a maid, although she and Adam had Holy Matrimony. That holy ordination is clear:

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (Mark 10:7-9)

That ordinance is repeated from Genesis 2:24 wherein God applied it to Adam and Eve. As such, Eve came from Adam, and they were created holy and of one flesh. They were created together as one without father or mother in a biological sense. God provided for Adam a virgin, not to engage in sexual intercourse, but spiritual communion to reproduce.

When David said that he was “shapen in inquity” (Psalm 51:5) that implies that his parents had sexual intercourse to make him. Parents had become the gods just as the sly Serpent forewarned (Gen 3:5).

Thus, a real man is called not do what Lucifer did, and a virgin is warned not to be deceived by a flattering tongue (Prov 26:28).

Yes, the Serpent did flatter Eve — she would be as God!

Now, to repeat Exodus 22:16, ““And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.”

Next comes betrothal. Betrothed is aras in the Hebrew, and that means “one who farms the land” (ibid) and “husbandry” is implied. Husbands plant the seeds, tends to the plants or animals, and grows them to maturity. Then husbands harvest the crop. Husbands are to be family men.

Eve was the ‘help meet” of Adam. She was to be the vessel that Adam was to plant as her husband. Before Adam had a chance, her new “lord,” indubitably, Lucifer, may have seduced the maid; then Eve surely deceived Adam into believing that Cain was from his seed (Gen 4:1).

Eve was betrothed to Adam, but Lucifer’s pomp required that he be the “husbandman” just as Noah when he sinned and became drunken on wine. (Gen 9:20).

God is polite; He called carnal knowledge “lie” (sakab; figuratively to relax together), ostensibly the “fire” within them both. Eve “got laid” (ibid) to relax their sexual tension, not for procreation. The same goes for the man and the maid in general. Endowment is preparation to wed the theretofore, virgin.

Lucifer did the most infidel thing possible. He did not and could not marry Eve because that was not in God’s Plan, and besides that in heaven, angels neither marry nor are given in marriage (Mat 22:30).

That applies in heaven, but not to the world. How is that known? In the days of Noah when sin was rampant, “the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown” (Gen 6:4).

Came in, in the vulgar, is plant seeds in the womb. The angels as “Sons of God” had carnal knowledge with the daughters of Adam. They bare wicked children together; not human beings but greater beings who God wiped out in the flood.

The sons of God had “took them wives” (Gen 6:2). Wives, in this context are adulteresses (ibid) that was the case for Eve as well.

So, Eve probably not only engaged in carnal knowledge with a being not her true husbandman, but with the “Beast,” the Serpent, as well.

Both laws were broken. Then after several generations, the offspring of Eve (adam, or man) did the same sin again! In the days of Noah, the DNA of adami-kind had mixed again with another kind of being, and now today, all have the blood of the Wicked One in them to some degree since all have sinned!

Jesus came to improve the “beasts.” He provided the solution, but the sick must imbue it before they are cured. They must be endowed with the Holy Ghost just as Adam and Eve were in their glory!

Because carnal sin was damning and destructive in the beginning and again with Noah before the Earth was destroyed, so it will be in the end when the Earth is destroyed by fire.

The sign of the days of Noah was coupling in sexual intercourse without the commitment of Holy Matrimony, and that too was part of the original sin.

In this age, the most prolific and even prideful sin is fornication — laying a maiden without the intention of Holy Matrimony or even betrothal; not even being a husband!

I have heard so many say without shame; “We just live together,” meaning that they are not betrothed, and that situation is dishonorable in the eyes of God. Like Lucifer long ago, that is a pompous thing to do and an affront to God.

My greatest sin is just that! I am pointing a finger not only at others but to myself as well. God healed that with me, and He can do that with you as well. Don’t just get married to “couple” but to triple — husband and wife as “brides” of the “Groom,” Jesus.
