THE ACCURSED THING

Scripture can be viewed from different perspectives. The preacher Sunday morning focused on the theft of royal belongings for the conquering of enemies. On the other hand, the “Accursed Thing” fascinated me. I saw the focus of the chapter, not so much on the theft, but on the misappropriation of the good things that God provides for righteous use, used for wrong things.

Joshua was the “son” of Moses, not in a genetic sense but as a spiritual “antitype.” Moses was the positive antitype of the Father, and Joshua the positive antitype of the Son. In fact, “Joshua” is the English form of Yehoshua — “Yahweh rescues” — just as is the name, Jesus. Joshua was the Name that is not to be used in vain, according to the commandment for it has intense significance.

Moses was not allowed entry into the Promised Land, at least, not until the Transfiguration of Jesus. Whether in body or spirit is unknown, but Moses was there when Jesus showed himself as God, and to the Jewish apostles standing there, they could see that Moses was no Jesus and Jesus was not Moses!

With that said, neither was Moses, God, and nor was Joshua, Jesus, but antitypes of them.

After Joshua took charge of the Israelites, no longer were they Mosaic but Yehoshua’s. Their natures had changed, not by biogenetics, but “Theogenetics” as the Father put the “Divine Impulse,” once in Moses, into Joshua. As such, that transition changed the nature of the Israelites, for only the elect would enter in, and the Hebrew people would no longer be Kenites as their “father” Cain but more like Abel who was buried there and whose “blood crieth unto Me from the ground” (Gen 4:10).

Moses was also the negative antitype of Cain as well just as his wandering path suggests, as the name Cain means “Wanderer.” Joshua was “The Word” coming back “home” to Paradise, as many believe, and as I believe as well.

Just as Cain was of the Wicked One and killed his righteous brother; Abel was of the Righteous One, and scripture implies that Abel was conceived in the womb of Eve by Divine Impulse.

With the conception of Cain, Adam knew Eve. He had yada, yada, yada with her (Gen 4:2), but even with that, it may have been farcical in the manner that David’s son, Solomon, was contrived to be the son of Bathsheba’s Hittite husband, Uriah.

But when Abel was conceived, no mention of Adam was made; it is written only, “And she again bare his brother Abel” (Gen 4:3). Adam had no knowledge of her when Abel was conceived, and since he was “Righteous Abel” (Mat 23:35), then that implies that he was not “shapen in iniquity” (Psalm 51:5) like the rest of us, as David remarked about himself.

All that to demonstrate that Joshua’s entry into Israel was a return to Paradise wherein the blood of Abel cried out for the flesh of Joshua to enter the land.

Thus far (Josh 7), the Israelites had made it past the genetic descendants of the cherubim — the Anakim and soon they would be completely cut off (Josh 11:21).

The genes of the cherubim Gregori angels (from The Book of Enoch) had made it through the flood in the flesh of Canaan and his brothers — sons of Ham. God had made the route back into the Garden perilous, and the Israelites should have known that well, “So He drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life” (Gen 3:24). The Anakim were the fulfillment of that!

Joshua sent 3000 men up to see Ai (the Canannites of that area), but then they fled (Josh 7:4). The cursed Canaanites had scared the salvation out of the Israelites. They appeared to fear genetic sons of Canaan more so than Almighty God who had been with them for forty years!

Canaanites had the genes of giant Gregori from the days of Noah in them and were accursed.

In the days of Noah, Noah simply found grace (Gen 6:8). The Book of Jasher reveals the grace that Noah “found” was the “Garment of Adam,” according to scripture: “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them” (Gen 3:21).

God clothed them with His “Flesh” to endure the world outside the paradisical Garden. God provided that same grace to Noah, but as it turns out, Ham stole the Garment of Adam, according to that sacred writing and Canaanites wore the now cursed coat.

The “Graceful Thing,” The Garment of Adam, by the time of Canaan, had become the “Accursed Thing to wit: “But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel.

Achan put on the Accursed Thing; what was it that was cursed? Stolen from the Canaanites were many treasures; among which was a “Babylonish garment” (Josh 7:21).

As it turns out, Babylonians ended up with the “Garment of Adam,” as The Book of Jasher reveals:

24 And the garments of skin which God made for Adam and his wife, when they went out of the garden, were given to Cush. 25 For after the death of Adam and his wife, the garments were given to Enoch, the son of Jared, and when Enoch was taken up to God, he gave them to Methuselah, his son. 26 And at the death of Methuselah, Noah took them and brought them to the ark, and they were with him until he went out of the ark. 27 And in their going out, Ham stole those garments from Noah his father, and he took them and hid them from his brothers. 28 And when Ham begat his first born Cush, he gave him the garments in secret, and they were with Cush many days. 29 And Cush also concealed them from his sons and brothers, and when Cush had begotten Nimrod, he gave him those garments through his love for him, and Nimrod grew up, and when he was twenty years old he put on those garments. 30 And Nimrod became strong when he put on the garments, and God gave him might and strength, and he was a mighty hunter in the Earth, yea, he was a mighty hunter in the field, and he hunted the animals and he built altars, and he offered upon them the animals before the Lord… 45 And all nations and tongues heard of his fame, and they gathered themselves to him, and they bowed down to the earth, and they brought him offerings, and he became their lord and king, and they all dwelt with him in the city at Shinar, and Nimrod reigned in the earth over all the sons of Noah, and they were all under his power and counsel. (Jasher 7:24-30,45)

The Garment of Adam, by the time of Nimrod, was cursed, and ended up “in the city at Shinar” — Babylon.

The now defiled “Garment of Adam” seems to be the “accursed garment” that Achan stole. It was the “Babylonish Garment” that would make the Israelites mighty hunters like Nimrod and would enable them to kill the Canaanites. Rather than God, Achan would have them depend on Nimrod — the “mighty hunter” who had even failed in his attempt to kill God.

Nimrod failed because the Garment of Adam was to cover Adam, but it was “The Word of God” that Adam and Noah had found!

Whether the Garment was actual skins or “Spiritual Flesh” is debatable, but  the “Garment of Grace” appears to have been real skins of lambs but were also coverings of the Spirit of God. Perhaps by the time of Joshua, God had removed His “Strength” from the garments because they were misappropriated for the use of evil just as all good things are!

Nimrod is the “spirit” of all false gods that can be traced from Babylon, to Egypt, to Persia, to Greece, and on to Rome. They are the same New Age “gods” of modern times. So, rather than depending on the King of kings and LORD of Lords, Achan was depending on the antitype of the Antichrist — Nimrod, whose idols were Terah’s, the father of Abram, that Abraham had destroyed.

Achan was in effect digging up the gods of Nimrod when he stole the accursed Garment of Adam; that “Babylonish Garment” — “the accursed thing”!
