There is a question as old as time itself; did Adam have a belly button? If he did, or did not, is meaningless, but the Earth was the “child of God,” not in the sense of an organism, but as another “existence” spiraling from the Existing One — THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
The Earth represents life. It has the essentials in every respect for life to exist that in all probability does not exist elsewhere. Not only are humans the chosen and peculiar race (Deut 14:2) that were elected to exist, but the Earth is the chosen and peculiar place. There is no race without a place, and life exists only in this special place. Another question that could be asked; Does the Earth have a belly button?
The ”world” (Hebrew; tebel) is the “habitable globe” and the “Earth” (‘eres) is “the firm” substance of the world (BLB 2021) from 1 Samuel 2:8. The “pillar” (masuq) on which the Earth sits is the LORD’s, as is written therein. The pillars extend from the throne of God to the Earth, as can be seen from that passage:
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the Earth are the Lord's, and He hath set the world upon them.
Therein is the world, the throne of God in heaven, and the people of the world, just as scripture indicates, “for out of it (the ground — the “firm”) wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return” (Gen 3:19).
In a metaphoric sense, therefore, the pillars are the “umbilical cord” of God that extends from His throne on heaven to the world. Thence, the world has a “belly button.”
Solomon, the wisest man to ever exist, said that 5 “because man goeth to his long home… 6 or ever the silver cord be loosed… 7 then shall the dust return to the Earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it” (Ecc 6:5-7).
The “silver cord” therein is literally a “pale twisted thread” (ibid). Solomon was speaking of both death and the Apocalypse when the composition of all things will change, the Earth is regenerated, and a new beginning occurs for the new creatures in Christ.
The silver cord is perhaps the pillars in question; not pillars made of stone but the chromosomes of God — the “pale twisted thread” of double-helix organic material that contains life and instructions encoded in it to retain life! JHVG (Jehovah God) is said to be in DNA. His Double-Helix is perhaps the pillars that Solomon saw as a pale twisted thread. Indeed, the word “chromosome” comes from khroma soma and means “color of the organism” (Douglas-Harper 2001-2022).
Why two cords? Why two pillars? God said that Adam was made in “in our image, after our likeness” (Gen 1:26). The Father and Son might be those “pillars” — the Father, the invisible Pillar and the Son, the visible pillar. The double-helix is one “thread” woven around the other in a sort of spiral. I believe that the DNA of man from God is the link between man and God and consequently between heaven and Earth, just as in 1 Samuel 2:8. And not to be forgotten is that the DNA may represent the interwoven Identity of the Father with the Son, and “Jacob’s Ladder” — the spiral stairway to heaven.
A renowned Jewish historian (Montefiore) described Jerusalem when the Dome of the Rock was constructed:
The Rock was the site of Adam’s paradise, Abraham’s altar, the place where David and Solomon planned their Temple later visited by Muhammad on his Night Journey. Abd al-Malik was rebuilding the Jewish Temple for the true revelation of God, Islam (as he saw it).The building has no central axis but is encircled thrice — first by the outside walls, next by the octagonal arcade and then right under the dome, bathed in sunlight, the arcade around the Rock itself” this declared that this place was the centre of the world. The dome itself was heaven, the link to God in human architecture. The golden dome and the lush decorations and gleaming white marble declared this was the new Eden, and the place for the Last Judgment when Abd al-Malik, and his Umayyad dynasty, would surrender their kingdom to God at the Hour of the Last Days. Its wealth of images — jewels, trees, fruit flowers and crowns — make it a joyful building even for Muslims — its imagery combined the sensuality of Eden with the majesty of David and Solomon. (Montefiore 2011) (parenthesis mine)
Montefiore was describing the Dome of the Rock that the Muslim Umayyad Caliphate build atop the “Rock” — The Foundation Stone at the “centre of the world” that is commonly called the “Navel of the World” by so many in the three principal religions.
The Dome of the Rock is the “Golden Bowl” that covers the Navel of the World. It was started in 691 A.D., thousands of years after Solomon’s Temple was built in the 10th Century B.C.
Did Solomon know about the future use of that Holy Rock; that exact same place that creation started and the “firm” place that Adam had lain as the “turntable” for his molding?
Consider death and the Apocalypse of which Solomon wrote:
Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. (Ecc 12:6)
The “silver cord” has already been defined as the thread of life from the throne of God to the navel of the world, and also as the DNA in the chromosomes whose “color” comes from stain from within the world to the bodies of the organisms. So, what is the “golden bowl” that will be broken?
I think that Solomon knew all about the Dome of the Rock that was covered in gold leaf!
Before the Apocalypse, many theologians believe that another Temple would be built. Ironically, or by Divine Planning perhaps, the Dome that al-Malik built is the Last Temple.
It was not built as a Mosque, but an image of Paradise on Earth. The Rock is its pillar, and the Dome is the “firmament,” or “dome,” in some versions, that represents the cosmos above, sitting right there on the plane of the celestial axis! Al-Malik was acting as God and recreating Paradise on Earth.
What right would he have to do that? Perhaps God ordained that al-Malik would be the servant to Shem and Japheth for after the deluge it was written, “God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant” (Gen 9:27).
The Dome of the Rock, just like the Tabernacles in the wilderness, is one of the “tents” of God and those of the germline of Canaan who built it — Arabs intermixed with Semites.
During the Crusades, that Muslim shrine, not a mosque, was used as a Temple by the Christians there. Ironically, the Canaanites had built a Temple, that also He did not need, for God’s purposes. That big “bowl,” before the end comes, must be broken, and broken it will be just as all the other Temples that have covered the Navel of the World along the celestial axis. The real “dome” above was the celestial sphere of which the Dome was a symbol, and the axis went from the throne of God in heaven to the world.
Perhaps on another day, the broken pitcher and the broken wheel at the cistern will be revealed to me. At the present, I have no idea, but am certain that Solomon was writing of his Temple for God’s use that al-Malik would build, right there on the Foundation Stone at the Navel of the World.
