CAIN WITH SATAN IN HIM

  The question is, Was Cain conceived in the Garden Paradise or outside of it? The key verse follows:

KEY VERSE: “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, ‘I have gotten a man from the Lord’” (Gen 4:1). If chronologically, then Adam “knew” Eve outside of Paradise, but did Adam produce the seed  for Cain? Before, the word “knew” is examined, consider Cain:

¹¹ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. ¹² Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. (1 John 3:11-12) 

  John wrote, “from the beginning.” So where would be the best place to look? In the beginning — in the Book of Genesis. Cain was “of the wicked one,” but Eve said, “I have begotten a man from the Lord.”

  Eve claimed that Yehovah was the Father of Cain. Of course, “father” in archaic English does not need to be the one who sired, but any ancestor.

  On the other hand, since Adam had “dominion” over the Garden of Eden and Eve (Gen 1:26), Adam was her Lord, but the Hebrew is explicit with the Lord, Yehovah. So, she claimed that the Lord God had given her a son though Adam. Indeed, her name gives her way; she was no Mary!

  John claimed that Cain was the son of the “Wicked One.” It may be that he is the spiritual son of Satan, or maybe the biological son. If the former, then righteous Abel would be the son of the Wicked One as well, but he was not, according to Paul, “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous” (Heb 11:4). Abel, not Cain, was “from the Lord” and apparently Cain was from the Wicked One.

  As the “father of lies” the unrighteous are of their “father the Devil” (John 8:44), Sinners, unless they repent and are born-again, are children of the Wicked One.

  Of course, Satan may not have provided the semen for our existence, or did he? but he did his DNA. All mankind, when born, have mutated DNA and are sons of the Devil, biologically and spiritually. The question is, How did mankind get Satan’s DNA, or did sin just mutate the DNA that God supplied through Adam? Let it be assumed that means that Cain is the biological and spiritual son of the Devil just as Adam was the biological and Spiritual son of God.

  Now read ahead to Noah’s time: “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown” (Gen 6:4). If Cain was the son of the wicked one, then the daughters of men would be Cain’s line. The Book of the Secrets of Enoch validates that. Those of Cain’s DNA would have as their “father” Cain, and as such the Wicked One is their father as well, remembering that “father” can also refer to antecedents.

  Since Abel was the son of God by his righteousness, then the “sons of God” are of the DNA of Seth, who was thereafter spiritual heir with Abel gone. Seth was the son of God (Luke 3:38). Enoch called him “righteous Seth” and that was because he worshipped Yehovah in Spirit and Truth after Adam had once God forgave his sins. Enoch also calls the sons of God coming from Seth, and the sons of man, from Cain.

  Sons of man means sinful man. If Cain had been born in the Garden, then he would be glorious, not sinful because Adam had been redeemed by preincarnate Jesus who provided for him, a coat of a lamb’s skin..

  Cain, according to the key verse, was born outside the Garden, “God has provided me a man.” He was born, not asway from sin, but in sin. Not ‘adam this time, in the Hebrew, but ‘iysh. Cain was not the son of ‘adam but just a male child. The male child of whom? Not Adam, or she would have said, “’adam.” Whose child was Cain? Rather than “gotten a man from the Lord,” Cain (Qayin) means “possession” or an expanded meaning is “creature” (Strong’s Dictionary). Eve admitted that her child was a “beast” but was he the son of Adam?

  The key verse says, “Adam knew Eve” or “’adam yada’ ‘eth chavvah ‘ishshah.” According to Strong, not only does ‘ishshah mean “woman” but “adulteress” as well. Adam knew the “adulteress.” Just what made her an adulteress? She was Adam’s “wife-man” and had been molded from the side of Adam. That was Holy Matrimony in that they were made from one ‘adam.

  Like some theologians say, adultery is implied in scripture because they made for themselves aprons of fig leaves (Gen 3:7). Eve covered her pudenda for some reason. Perhaps the “Serpent” violated her, and of course, it would not be rape but consensual for it to be a sin. (For now, Adam’s sin will be neglected).

  How could a snake and a woman have coitus? They cannot! In Hebrew, the Serpent was a nachash — an “image.” An “image of whom? Satan had taken on bodily form. Isaiah uses the word “seraph” to describe both angels and serpents (Isa 6:2–6, 14:29, 30:6). Enoch not only refers to “sons of God” as Seth’s line but also angels, and specifically gregori (giants).

  Seth’s line, when they walked down holy Mount Herman, took on forms of angels. When they sinned, the best rationale, is that demons got into the sons of God and made them half human and half gregori. Then they married into the line of Cain, the son of the Wicked One.

  What happened in those days? The men of renown (fame) were drained to the center of the Earth when the waters of the deluge receded. Nephilim (giants) still existed afterwords because the Wicked One’s DNA passed through on the ark with sinning women, wives of Noah’s sons. Only Noah was righteous, and because the other six were of his household, they too were saved.

  Baptism came on because of the water of the flood. Noah’s household likely became believers when they were delivered safely to solid ground, just as belief provided safety to the household of Lydia’s household (Acts 16:14-16).

  From the key verse, “Adam knew Eve (the adulteress),.” The Hebrew for knew is yada’, meaning he had carnal knowledge of her. Scripture says that Eve “was the mother of all living” (Gen 3:2) but it says nothing about Adam being the father of all living.

  The point is that if Seth’s line and Cains line engaged in intercourse with dark angels, why could Eve (the “adulteress”) not have had adultery with a seraph angel? Why was Cain the son of the Wicked One, but Seth, the “son of God?” Because, after Eve was covered with a coat from a lamb, her sins were forgiven just as with Jesus, the “Lamb of God.” Adam may have had carnal knowledge of Eve, but just as in modern times, perhaps Adam was not the father of Cain! On the other hand, Adam impregnated Eve then Abel and Seth were born. They were indeed “sons of God” through Adam’s male DNA!

  All are born in iniquity (Psalm 51:5) as was David. Everyone, because Satan’s DNA went through the flood, are sons of the Wicked One. Indeed, all men begin their existence as sons of the Wicked One that scripture says are of “their father, the Devil” (John 8:44).

  Thus, Satan is both the spiritual and worldly father of all mankind since even the flesh was corrupted by sin (1 Cor 15:53). Both the soul and body of everyone belongs to Satan, the Wicked One, until they are “born again” (John 3:7). That transformation occurs when they consider that Moses held up a dead fiery flying serpent on his “tree” (John 3:14), and the Seraph would fly no more!  

  Rebirth is understanding that you cannot kill the Seraph, but God effectively did when Judas was hung limp in his tree (Mat 27:5); near the same time on the same day that Jesus was hung on His “tree” (Acts 5:30).

  The body of Judas died that day, but the Seraph still goes to and fro, awaiting a new Judas. His name is unknown, but he is called the “Beast” and the “Antichrist.” Judas was the son of the Devil and the beastly Antichrist shall be as well.

  Cain had his “father” the Seraph in him. Perhaps Cain was the Devil’s offspring by blood and spirit, and that is why that blood alone is not sufficient to kill the Serpent; and that it takes both the Blood of Christ and the Living Water of His Holy Ghost.

  Indeed, Cain, just like Judas, had Satan in him. Not only that, but the flesh of Cain belonged to the Devil and he would not pay homage to pre-incarnate Jesus… because Judas would be his “God.”

  That was intended to be the end of the commentary, but there is more! To wit, according to The Conflicts of Adam and Eve with Satan, Cain married his own twin sister, Luluwa. She would have been the daughter of the Wicked One if the hypotheses herein are correct.

  Abel also had a twin sister, Aklidia, who would be Adam’s biological daughter, being conceived after the coats of the “Lamb” were put on. Both Seth and Eve would be legitimate children of God. (At that time incest was only marrying those of your own flesh.)  Cain married his own wicked flesh, but Seth married the righteous “flesh” of Abel. All of Cain’s children were sons of the Wicked One and Eve, but Seth’s children were of the Holy One and Eve.

  Jesus has the genetic pedigree (DNA) of Eve through “virgin” Mary. He was genetically, the Son of righteous Seth and forgiven Eve. His Father, Yehovah, “borne” Him into the vessel of Mary. He had Mary’s DNA but not Mary’s blood because the uterus is an impermeable barrier. His “blood” was the very Blood of God! It was God who bled on the Cross, and the Blood and Living Water of Gid that redeemed ‘adam-kind.

  Jesus was born of Mary but borne of God. There was no “adultery” involved because Mary was betrothed to Joseph but remained a virgin. Mary was no adulterous because her womb was pure. God did not contaminate the womb but transported the bodily-shaped Spirit of Jesus into her womb, then Mary delivered Him a newborn baby. “Borne” is more general than “born.” Whereas Mary carried Jesus as if a burden, God transported His weightless Spirit unto Mary. Jesus is the Son of the Righteous One, and has no DNA of the Wicked One. God created flesh in Mary’s side just as God created Adam from His “Side,” and in turn, Eve from the side of Adam.

  Because the blood of Mary, the Daughter of Man, did not mingle with the Spirit of God, Jesus has no DNA at all from the Wicked One, so His Blood is a sufficient antidote for sin. Jesus is the Son of Man in the sense that Seth provided the womb, and the Son of God, because Yehovah filled it.

  Where was the Wicked One at that time? Going to and fro tempting Jesus and considering entereing Judas — Wicked Judas!

HE SAID, SHE SAID

 

KEY VERSES COMPARISON:

¹⁶ The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: ¹⁷ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Gen 2:16-17)

² The woman said unto the serpent, “’We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: ³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,’ God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.” (Gen 3:2-3) 

  Those two passages are chronological; hence, they were at two different times. Chapter two precedes three, and at that time Eve had not been created. Therefore, God said nothing to her. Only Adam knew the exact words of the command, and it is implied that Adam revealed the only “shalt not” to Eve. He either added to it or she did. Eve got it half right, but God had not said, “Neither shall ye touch it.”

  Eve had to touch the tree to eat of it, did she not? Is touching the tree really a second violation? Perhaps not. First check for precision of translation. Context must be considered. Indeed, one translation is “touch.” However, there is another one as well — and that is, “to be smitten.” “Touch” would be an action by Eve, but “smitten” would be an action by another. The question is, who touches whom?

  The logical answer (in context) is that the Serpent smote Eve even though she did touch the tree to eat. In context, “lest ye (Eve) die.” The outcome of eating is more likely that the tree would cause Eve to die, not for touching but for eating. She understood that the consequence for disobedience is that the fruit of the tree would kill her. In other words, perhaps she was not tricked as she excused herself, “The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat” (Gen 2:13). Inn fact, she beguiled God with that rationale.

  Also, Eve got it wrong on another point. The fruit of the tree would not make her die, but she herself would!

  Before proceeding, death has two meanings in scripture: (1) the death of the body, and (2) the death of the soul. Theretofore, perhaps the body had been immortal, and then it began to wither, and undetectably so. She ate and nothing seemed to happen, so Adam ate as well. Neither understood that the death of the flesh occurred at that moment as their cells began to die. Hence, time is not a measure of life but the duration of dying. Dying is enduring the world until the flesh perishes. That is mortality of the body.

  However, the soul is immortal. In the beginning the soul did not exist. It was there, “Before the foundation of the world” (Ephes 1:4). However, before the beginning, all that existed was God. Somewhere between the beginning and either “day one” or “day two” souls of mankind were created. Sacred literature places the supernatural as one of the waters in “day two.” So, with that, angels and human souls would be created on “day two” before the foundation of the earth in and below the firmament.

  It is believed that the “firmament” is the celestial dome outside of which God resides in the Tenth Heaven (Secrets of Enoch). Hence, the First Heaven was on one side of the celestial dome and all the others in the celestial sphere. For God, time is meaningless, and the cosmos, is a mere curtain to cross independent of time.

  The souls of mankind would have been “born” in the First Heaven before material things. What that would mean is that there are living souls in our midst, waiting election by God to be embodied. Since souls are not matter, and only matter decays, the soul never dies. It does, however, translates from Heaven to Heaven. Specifically, from the First Heaven to the Third Heaven for Christians, or if sinners, from the First Heaven to the Second where they are held “prisoner” until Judgment Day (ibid). Thereafter, righteous souls live for eternity in paradise, and unrighteous souls eternally die in Hell outside Paradise (ibid) separated by a great gulf (Luke 16:26).

  Hence, the soul never dies, but is either rewarded or punished. Eve seemed to understand that she would be punished, and so did Adam. They tried to fix their guilt by covering themselves partially with aprons of fig leaves, by the works of their own hands. That failed then, and so it does now!

  Eve was not truly beguiled! She felt guilt in the presence of herself, Adam, and then God. She had wronged herself, Adam, and God. Rather than cover her pudenda, she should have revealed her heart!

  If Eve had touched the tree, perhaps she made a mistake. Maybe her excuse was this, “As I reached for the fruit, I may have accidentally touched the tree, and I would not be guilty because Adam said nothing about touching it!” In other words, Eve could have planned her excuse before consuming the forbidden fruit. Henceforth, that is the nature of all people. Sin always has a plan to exonerate just as criminals fabricate excuses beforehand in case they are caught.

  However, rather than an excuse, it could have been truth. She feared that she indeed would be smitten but proceeded to eat anyway. That would not be wrong information, but a Freudian slip — that she feared God would indeed be right; that she would really be smitten! Who would smite her? The fruit or the Serpent? It appears that Eve thought the fruit might poison her.

  That is reasonable now that she had knowledge of both good and evil. The Serpent, at that point, had not deceived her. She deceived herself as the Serpent was smiling at the ease of it all! After all, he is cunning! Sinners forget that they are dumber than a fifth-rated Snake. Why so? The Serpent was not what he appeared to be? Inside he is a “lion” (in character) ready to devour all who would approach him (1 Pet 5:8).

  Eve may have thought that the fruit would poison her. Perhaps she tasted just a bit, it was good, and nothing seemed to happen. I submit that the fruit of the tree was indeed tasty and healthy.

  Based on the source of the fig leaves for their aprons, surely the fruit they ate was figs. Some believe it was a tree of many fruits. That is correct for they are named: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such (Gal 5:19-21). Just as Satan was invisible inside the Serpent, those horrible “fruits” were invisible in Satan. Satan beguiled Eve by requitting her fears; “Ye shall not surely die” (Gen 3:4). She had already planned her consumption, and Satan allayed her fears. After all, she ate and did not seem to die.

  That is the way of the law of sin. Each time people sin, it seems as if nothing has changed. However, each sin is further isolation from God until the heart is so calloused that the sword of God (the Word) cannot penetrate the heart for “circumcision,” to wit: “Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God” (1 Cor 7:19). Eve’s heart had hardened, and her soul began to die. It too would wither from atrophy. The Word must be read and willingly kept for spiritual health.

  Did the fruit of the tree smite Eve or was it the Serpent? What should Eve have done? What Paul recommended long after, “Taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” (Ephes 6:16).

  The Serpent with Satan in it, shot fiery darts at Eve, unbeknownst to her. Like Eve, all her children fail to see the fiery darts coming at them from the “fiery flying serpent” that Isaiah saw as a “cockatrice” (Isa 14:29). The Serpent, perhaps, did not have legs for motivation, but wings, or perhaps both legs and wings. It was not a Serpent at all, but a type of seraph (Strong’s Dictionary).

  Eve, perhaps, feared that she would be smitten, and she was. She felt smitten, and she was. Guilt overcame her and Adam, and they endeavored to cover their crime against God. Because they felt anxiety about their misdeeds, and tried to correct what they had done, God had mercy on them. He then made them coats of skin, indubitably from a lamb… one lamb making two coats that covered all their flesh which had offended God.

  Rather than mask their “pie holes” to keep them from eating forbidden stuff anymore, God covered their entire flesh with His “whole armor,” because of the numerous sensations (Gal 5), to protect them from the fiery darts of the Wicked One.

  The aprons were meshes made from fig leaves, and very penetrable. On the other hand, the skin of a lamb is more protective from fiery darts. That would do until the Perfect “Lamb of God” — Jesus — would come to fend off all the fiery darts of the Cockatrice. What was the “skin” of the Lamb of God? The Flesh of God who died instead of sinners who deserve death.

  The Body of Christ is in the Third Heaven. And the Holy Ghost is the bodily shape (Luke 3:22) of Jesus who remains with Christians to protect them from the Cockatrice until he is cast into the fiery furnace. The “Skin” of the Lamb that covers Christians entirely is the whole armor of God that is worn until the body of Christians have imperishable flesh in the Third Heaven.

  It is a shame, I believe, that “touch” was rendered in the translation of Genesis 3:4 when the context more deserves “smitten,” because smitten is what occurred! As the mother of all, all people are smitten each time a forbidden fruit is held out in the hand of someone acting on the behalf of Satan. He still uses others to deceive. However, he can do that without being in us because his seed is in us.

  God is the “Farmer” that planted entirely “good” seed in the Garden Paradise. Satan is the “Poser Farmer” who plants bad seed in the world. God did the planting himself, and then used Adam and Eve to grow the Garden. Instead, as the mother and father of all, we are their seeds, and often plant evil seeds wherever we go. “Born again” is understanding the evil that dominates us because of inherited sin… all because of Adam and Eve. We are called to go out unto the world and plant good seeds to overcome the crop of evil growing there.

  The crop must be tended by Christians because the Cockatrice remains on Earth firing his fiery darts that only the glorified Flesh of Jesus can protect us from!

A COAT OF TWO FABRICS, A COAT OF MANY COLORS

   Many of us have seen the movie, "A Coat of Many Colors," about the hard life of Dolly Parton, but that pales to Jesus's coat of His own Flesh! With that in mind, consider two coats.

  “Sackcloth” is worn for four purposes throughout the Bible (1) humility (as in 1 Chron 21:16 when David fell on his knees dressed in sackcloth in deference to the Angel of the Lord, Jesus)), (2) for mourning (as in Esther 4:1-3 wherein Mordecai put on sackcloth sprinkled with ashes to enter the king’s gate), for (3) repentance, and the (4) reward (as in Isa 22:13 to receive good tidings).

  Sackcloth is from the Hebrew word, “saq” which means mesh. (Strong’s Dictionary). It has one other use; it is used to hold things. Some of those things are herbs, fruits, and even dried meats. Sackcloth was probably used for straining such things as pulp from grapes that left a sediment in their nearly unpalatable wine. In theory, it could be used by their morticians to separate the dust from their dried skeletons from the bones for internment in an ossuary.

  Sackcloth was most often made of camel’s hair. (See figure #1).

  Camels symbolize travel and endurance, not to speak of effective use of water for life! Why write about sackcloth? John put on a sackcloth of camel’s hair, to wit:

KEY VERSES: ⁴ John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. ⁵ And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. ⁶ And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; ⁷ And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. ⁸ I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. (Mark 1:4-8)

  Why did it matter that John wore sackcloth of a camelhair? This time the mourning was each for themselves. This time, it was for repentance for their sins to be washed away. The lifeless camelhair would still use water efficiently; it would be used as a “rag” to wash away the sins of sinners and make them clean.

  It was a sort of mesh that would separate the sin from the sinner. Of course, the camelhair was not used directly, but covering John, it was symbolic of covering those baptized. Sinners would have their sins sifted away.

  Of course, it was not the body of John that saved, not the sackcloth, and certainly not the camel; nor even the water. John baptized in the Jordan because there was plenty of water there, it was flowing, and it represents entry into the promised land.

  Jesus was baptized, perhaps in the exact same place, where the priests of Joshua stood still for a time in the water before entering the “paradise” of Israel. When their feet touched the water with the Ark of God, the waters stood up for them to pass through. As with Moses long before, water saved the Hebrew people.

  The very name, Moses, means “water.” He went from royalty to servanthood. Sackcloth would also symbolize humbled Moses. Moses represents the Father in the Godhead. Joshua represents Jesus, even by his name. Note that Joshua did not get wet. However, he was baptized by standing on dry land. According to scripture, “He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful” (Josh 4:19). Why did John baptize with water? So the people of the Earth might know that the Hand of the Lord (Jesus) is powerful.

  Why the baptism of John in running water? So the people might know the power of Jesus who would come soon after John, “There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.” There are two types of baptism: one with water and the other without, “⁸ I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.” John baptized with water and Jesus with His own Hand; laying on by Hand the Holy Spirit. He does the same dry baptism that God did for the priests and Joshua, on whom “Jesus” laid on the holy spirit.

  The baptism of John laid on the holy spirit by the “living waters” to cleanse the people, but only on Jesus did it remain (John 1:33). Obviously, the baptism of John did not imbue anyone with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cleansed them, and then removed Himself. When Jesus died, he gave up the Holy Ghost, and it came onto all who believed.

Now for Adam and Eve’s “baptism.” “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them” (Gen 3:21). That was temporary until they could rightfully eat of the Tree of Life from whose roots flowed living water.

  There were two “coats” that God’s Hand made for them, but from one skin. Jesus was not only a carpenter, but a tanner, and a manufacturer. Where translated, “carpenter,” in the Greek, “Tradesman” is more general. God was not just a humble carpenter but Creative in all things. Jesus is Powerhouse, Physicist, Astrologer, Alchemist (something from nothing), Model Maker, Artist, Sculptor, Journeyman, Toolmaker, and even Carpenter; and on top of that, He is King and Savior! John was a mere Jewish “Dunkerd.”

  Jesus now wears purple, but John only wore camel’s hair. The “Chiton of the Lord” was the coat that Jesus wore when He was crucified (John 19:23-24). It was of one piece, according to scripture, but was torn apart and apparently sold by the soldiers. Its material has not been identified. My guess is that it could be woolen but could have been linen; that is a finely woven textile. It would be a finer mesh than camel’s hair. Did Jesus wear richer sackcloth than John whose sandals he was not worthy to loosen? Or did Jesus wear woolen material? In it is implied in the Bookk of Daniel that Jesus would wear line (Dan 12:6).

  What did Jesus wear when he was in the Garden of Eden? He must have appeared in bodily shape as a ghost, just as He did when the Holy Ghost came on Him at baptism. Whether sackcloth of linen or fine white wool is unknown, but the material for covering Adam and Eve was identified in the Books of Adam and Eve. Their “coats of skin” were from one lamb that God sacrificed for their safety in the world. It was unlike sackcloth, but more like the fine linen that Jesus may have worn. Jesus is the Lamb of God. It is His “Skin” that redeemed mankind, not hemp or cotton. His clothing was for modesty. It was His own skin that covered mankind.

  John the Baptist wore humble camelhair that had been made for carrying and sifting. Indeed, John sifted the sinners from the Jews and left the saints remaining.

  Jesus wore His own Skin. His Flesh redeemed mankind just as the lamb kept Adam and Eve safe from the barbs of Satan. Adam’s sackcloth was more protective than John’s. Water would not do the miracle of eternal life, only the Flesh of the Tree of Life would do that! Hence, only the Baptism of Jesus’s Holy Ghost is sufficient, and any other merely sifts.

  Now back to Joshua. The water stood up by the Hand of God when the feet of the Hebrews were in running water; from where? The City of Adam (Josh 3:16). The water of God in Paradise saved Joshua, and indeed the Naral Ha Yarden is the Jordan River, and is the “River of the Garden.” Lot looked upon the Jordan plain and said, “Even as the Garden of the Lord.” That implied two things: (1) That the Garden of Eden was destroyed and all that remained was a plain on the Jordan River, and (2) that the land of Canaan was the location of the Garden of Eden.

  As the waters of the Jordan were cut off, also the sins of Adam were as well. Israel is the “Promise Land” and the Jordan the promised “Living Waters” that would protect the Hebrews and keep those baptized by John until the “True Living Water” covered their sinful flesh. That day arrived on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) where the “sea of glass” (Rev 4:6) was parted so that Christians could see the Way across the great divide. The Cross is the signpost, and ironically, the outcome of that is “Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the Earth” (Mat 5:5).

  Arrogant people did not cross the Jordan. They were left behind. The meek Christians that remained, inherited Israel, and the meekest of the meek (144,000) will inherit the Earth.

  When John baptized in sackcloth that showed the meek the Way. First, they step in the water as the priests of old did, then as with Joshua; the same ritual would occur when many were baptized by John before Jesus. Baptism represents the laying on of the Holy Ghost who would be laid on after Jesus was glorified, and when His Ghost was available (John 7:39).

  Sackcloth is the Way! “Born again” is not because of a pole with the limp body of the Serpent on it, but humility for mankind but exultation of God. True, Jesus wore finer sackcloth than John, but He deserved it. John died, but his cloth did not redeem. Jesus died but His “cloth” did! Of course, it was not His garment that redeemed, but His garment of flesh. That is the coat of the Lamb that Christians will  wear to the wedding feast; when Jesus returns for His Bride, the Church, wearing much finer than sackcloth.

  The skin of a lamb is more substantial than camelhair mesh. Of course, the “skin” of the Lamb named “Jesus” is the Power of His Holy Ghost. Just as the Holy Spirit penetrated the darkness to form man, the Holy Ghost that Jesus gave up still penetrates the darkness in men!

MARRIAGE AND HOLY MATRIMONY

  I have distinguished the difference many times between marriage and Holy Matrimony. [1] Briefly, marriage is of two types: civil and sectarian, legalized by a paper document or by a church ritual. Both are “civil” unions, and not holy because they are only between two persons. The Pope or bishop recognizes them both, but God does not! Why so? Because they are marriages without God. Ritual is no more than performing a ceremony in an orderly fashion. Those who marry in a church building do not make the marriage holy.

  In Holy Matrimony, the Christians are the “building.’ Since Christians are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19), marriage between two Christians is enlarging God’s Temple. (More on that shortly). Then, a family is enlarging it more, the extended family even more, ad infinitum. When two or more are joined together in the Name, Jesus, there is Church (Mat 8:20). As such holy matrimony enlarges two personal Churches.

  Hence, Holy Matrimony is the Church. Scripture calls the Church, “the Bride of Christ,” and He is the Bridegroom. Whenever two Christians come together in His Name, in Holy Matrimony, there is a silent third Person there! The bride, the groom, and the Groom (Jesus) are one Body joined together that no man should put asunder, to wit:

KEY VERSES: ³ The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, “Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?” ⁴ And he answered and said unto them, “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” ⁵ And said, “For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?” ⁶ Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (Mat 19:3-6)

  While that is absorbed, consider again civil marriage. There are not three persons involved. The official does not count because he is only a civil official. Too much emphasis is put on a piece of paper and the authority of the official. Man does not perform Holy Matrimony, but only civil ones. Hence most marriages are civil unions, making it so easy to put asunder. Usually, it is a third unholy person who puts those marriages asunder. Even Christians that have merely “marriage” have great obstacles ahead. Of course, when they realize God is necessary for completion, they can turn to God for Holy Matrimony.

  Jewish marriages, in apostolic times, did not involve paper or ritual. When two persons of different genders were betrothed, then God was accepted as their “Counselor.” Just what does “betrothed” mean? Essentially it is as marriage, but with neither cohabitation nor sexual intercourse. It is the promise to love and cherish the woman in a manner suitable to God. It is the “holy” part of Holy Matrimony. Coptic Christians still practice betrothal before marriage.

  With the holy part accomplished over time, the spiritual engagement is over, and it is time for the physical “engagement.” The “Church” must be enlarged if possible! God commanded that: “God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply’” (Gen 3:22). Note that God did not say, “Be pleasured and enjoy!” Marriage is intended to enlarge the Church and build a grander Temple for God. Carnal pleasuring builds a “house” for Satan.

  Jesus was asked about marriage. Obviously, it was to make Him stumble. He referred the Pharisees to the creation, “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female?” Then Jesus referred to marriage in this way, “(He) shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?”

  So just where to look for marriage in the beginning? In the beginning! First, check right after the “beginning.” It is written, “Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, ‘I have gotten a man from the Lord.’” They finally obeyed the command to multiply, but only after they sinned. “Knew” in Holy Scripture is coitus — when a man and woman with opposite “tools” engage in sexual intercourse. For those who have children, it is when they intentionally “knew” each other for that purpose. There was both carnal pleasure and spiritual pleasure, the latter only if they are Christians. Remember the fruits of both trees, from the New Testament”:

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19’21)

  Therein, Paul referred to “times past.” He referenced others before, as well as Adam and Eve. “Idolatry” was their genitalia, “variance” is the misuse of them, “emulations” are contests to reach climaxes, “uncleanness” includes emissions without the intent of procreation, “lasciviousness” is offensive  intense sexual desires, and so forth. For those reasons, many believe that sexual intercourse with no intention of reproducing was among the sins of Adam and Eve.

  They may have had coitus, but only for pleasure, with no intention of obeying God’s command to multiply. That makes sense, given the input of James, that breaking one commandment is as if breaking them all (Jas 2:10).

  Why else would the guilty pair make aprons of fig leaves to cover their shame? Why else would adultery be such a tremendous sin? Why else would the flesh of all people be their greatest strongholds? Why would building obelisks be so wrong, or “high places” in the Bible if not for the genitals of men and women?

  Now for the great surprise! In the key verses, it said, concerning Holy matrimony; that “the two shall be one flesh.” Just when did Adam and Eve begin marriage? Not with sex in the Garden or outside it when Adam “knew” Eve, but the two were one, when they were one flesh.  God created Adam, and a line was drawn in the sand, so to speak. God IS, and Adam became. To triangulate required a third person, and that was Eve. God was God, Adam was man, and Eve was to be “wife-man” (“help meet” for completion). Eve soon committed adultery with Satan, not with “good” knowledge, but with new carnal knowledge (evil).

  Eve fornicated against God, and then Adam did as well. Adam could have been as easily named, “Fornicator.” Then as only betrothed, they surely fornicated with each other beneath the “tree of carnal knowledge” (evil).  

  There they learned about adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, and Idolatry. Hence, Holy Matrimony did not entail carnal knowledge, but only spiritual knowledge. For that reason, betrothal in apostolic times was Holy Matrimony and sexual intercourse for reproduction, and merely for obedience. Civil marriage is more about lust than love, but Holy Matrimony is more about love of God and loving each other in like manner. As mentioned previously, it is to build the Church.

  Now back all the way to the beginning of marriage, of which Paul spoke.

²⁰ For Adam there was not found an help meet for him. ²¹ And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; ²² And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man. ²³ And Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” ²⁴ Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.  (Gen 2:20-24)

  Adam and Eve’s “marriage” was then! Her creation was “Holy Matrimony” and there was neither lust (carnal knowledge) nor sex involved. Neither were genitalia a part of Holy Matrimony! Compare the unity of man and wife-man above with the key verses.  Matthew quoted Genesis chapter two in the above. Holy Matrimony is as “one flesh.” “Cleaving” is to be “fastened together as one.” Eve was fastened to Adam as she was created. She did not come from his rib, but from his “curved side. “Rib” is implied, but the “cleavage” was the “silver cord” that is loosed when people die (Ecc2:6).

  Thus, Adam and Eve’s marriage was unification as if one until death when the silver cord is loosed. Only with the “silver cord” loosed, can one remarry.

  Adam “married” God when God breathed unto Adam, and Adam married Eve when God breathed life unto Eve through Adam’s side. The “silver cord” went from God to Adam to Eve and Holy Matrimony was introduced into Paradise. The betrothal was between God, Man, and Wife-man, as “help-meet” implies. Adam and Eve, if they indeed did pleasure under the tree, learned carnal knowledge and their matrimony was loosed. No longer were they as one in spiritual unity but in disunity. Satan tore their Holy Matrimony asunder.

  Look how quickly Paradise changed after carnal knowledge: Eve blamed the Serpent, Adam blamed Eve, and God was left out when they made their own aprons. No longer were they united in Holy Matrimony, but the silver cord was loosed and they each became as one individual, and each became “as God” (Gen 3:5). Not only did they spiritually separate, but they also separated themselves from God.

  With the two asunder, they were cast out of the Garden where God resided, but was  not first in their lives. They had something to remember God by, and that was the flesh of a lamb that God divided and cloaked them with. He kept the two who had been one, as one, and safe with His coat until Adam and Eve would be betrothed again. But that would not be as husband and wife who carnally know each other, but as brother and sister (Mat 22:30). In other words, they will be betrothed, but not carnal.

  Now back to apostolic times: “betrothal” had great significance. Paul wrote, “The time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none” (1 Cor 7:29), meaning to put pleasure aside and be holy as God is Holy. Rather than betrothal to Wife-man alone, the focus must be on God alone, as if not married.

  “Betrothal” infers commitment. Civil unions are noncommital, but to have civilized sex with one mate. Holy Matrimony a “triangulation” between God, woman, and man. Of course, fornication is also triangulation — between Satan, woman, and man. The opposite of betrothal is “disunion.” With carnal knowledge, the union of man and woman was loosened. Rather than betrothal with unity, it was disunion with chaos. The blame game started and continues to this day. Holy Matrimony is putting away the blame game, and a tightening of the silver cord between man, woman, and God.

  Marriage, to this day, fails so often because God is left out of the home, and it becomes merely two individuals cohabitating. Jesus had something to say about that as well:

¹⁷ The woman (at the well) answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said unto her, “Thou hast well said, I have no husband: ¹⁸ For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly” (John 4:17-18)

  Just what did Jesus mean by that? Perhaps the woman had been betrothed five times as was the custom; that she had had abstinence to make her marriages seem holy before coitus. However, with the man with whom she lived, there had been no betrothal at all. Her “marriage” was “unholy matrimony” which is the case for most to this day.

  With that truth, the woman knew that Jesus was a “Prophet.” She was certainly religious and had knowledge of good as well as carnal knowledge. Then Jesus gave her “living water’ from His side, and there was a silver cord made taut between Him and her. She was at one with Jesus and became His “bride.” She was “born again” much in the same manner as Eve “drank” the “Living Water” (Holy Spirit) from Adam.

  All the other “husbands” were of no consequence because He made the “harlot” unto a “saint” with His Word. Jesus covered her carnal flesh with His Holy Spirit. She became the “bride” of Jesus. She joined Christ in a type of “Holy Matrimony.”

  So, marriage is more than coitus and a family; it is commitment to each other and to Jesus. Without Jesus in the triangle the marriage is not Holy.

  Why so many divorces among Christians? Because Holy Matrimony is revealed only as a marriage for pleasure. There is a time for everything, but Holy Matrimony is unity with God by two people. It is not conjugal visitation, but glorious visualization.

  The holiest of marriages was Joseph and Mary. They were betrothed but had not “known” each other. Mary had spiritual oneness with God and provided Mary a Son. Thereafter, it was God, Mary, and Joseph. Just as Jesus was borne of God, He was born of Mary, in the most sacred marriage of all time. Because they had no coitus theretofore, Joseph’s and Mary’s betrothal was the Most Holy Matrimony. Joseph experienced Mary through Jesus, and the three became one.

  Joseph and Mary were unmarried, but were holy in their betrothal.

CHOICES

  There have been several movies made about choices. With every step in life, there exists two choices. Each choice has different outcomes. If things are done differently, the outcome would have been different. Our choices provide our destinies.

  This moment, I have two choices; to write or not to write.  I write because of two previous choices; because I read the Word, or I did not. I read the Word because I had two choices; to arise from my bed or not; ad infinitum.

  Life is the most imperative choice in my existence. I could not choose mortal life, but God and my parents did. God conceived me, then Dad did. Mom received me, then God did. We all are elected. Why is that so? “For God so loved the world that… you should not perish” (John 3:16). That you never perish, God perished Himself. That was His choice, His decision, and His grace.

  “Should not” is ambiguous. It is not even in scripture. The Greek actually is written, “apollymi me apollymi” meaning “die not to die”(Strongs’s Dictionary). It is neither should, shall, nor will. Of course, none should die because of choices. Some shall die, but they need not, albeit some will die. Conversely, all should live, some shall not live, and some will live; depending on their choice to live or die.

KEY VERSE: ¹⁶ …Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: ¹⁷ But Of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Gen 2:16-17)

  Therein are choices: (1) To eat or not to eat what is forbidden, and (2) to die or not to die — apollymi me apollymi. Hidden within the key verses is the most famous choice in the Bible — to die or not to die, or conversely, to live or not to live. God’s hidden Words therein are that none should perish, knowing full-well that many shall perish, and many thereafter will perish.

  Angels are immortal with one contingency; that they are allegiant to God. That is known because rebellious angels shall be thrown into the bottomless pit to perish. Angels who honor God are immortal. When God said that Adam was created in “our image, after our likeness” (Gen 1:26), He was not referring to the angels, except for that one aspect; obedient angels are immortal, but their “image” is nothing like Adam-kind.

 With Adam and Eve, given two choices — to eat or not to eat, there was a consequence for each choice: to die or not to die (apollymi me apollymi). As such, disobedience results in the choice between life and death, or to perish or not to perish. Death can indirectly be chosen over life. The question remains, What is death?

  Apparently, Adam thought death was the flesh perishing. Eve ate, and her flesh did not seem to perish. It began to wither that moment but undetectably so. Eve shall die thereafter… some time in the future she would die. Time, then is the coordinate for death. “Withering” is the process of dying. The medical field calls that slow process "apoptosis,” ironically “like a leaf falls off a tree.” (National Genome Research Institute). Eve began to die, ironically, like a leaf falls off a tree. She is as a tree, not as God, and Adam, once he ate, was like a dying tree as well.

  Infants have no choice. The norm for them is to be born robust. They are quite alive, but soon after, their cells begin to die. “We are programmed to die” (TheScientist.com). Sin programmed all to die, and the “programmer” is Satan. God’s “program” is DNA which scripture indicates, was “entirely good” (Gen 1:31).

  Like a computer virus, iniquity (immorality) is the spiritual virus that the “hacker” Seraph programmed into Adam. Adam was programmed to be Satan’s son as he tricked Adam into emancipating Himself. By the Way, the “patch” for that is a “reprogram” that Jesus called, “born again” (John 3:7) until regeneration (reprogramming) is compete. ironically that occurs at death when Satan’s DNA withers and dies. That is why “To die is gain” (Phil 1:21) because Satan can no longer “hack” God’s reprogramming.

  Hidden in Paul’s words is a choice. The full passage is “To live is Christ; to die is gain.” That points right back to the key verses! The Tree of Life is Christ. The choice was the Tree of Life to live or the Tree of Knowledge to die. Adam and Eve could freely eat of all the other trees, including the Tree of Life, and live. They could “eat” of Christ. The Tree of Life provided manna from heaven as did all the other trees. The Forbidden Tree only provided withered fruit. Of course, like Eve, it was spoiling as well. We learn from scripture that the fig tree withered. Rather than the “Parable of the fig Tree,” better nomenclature is perhaps “Parable of the Tree of Knowledge.”

  Dying doesn’t seem to be disparaging in scripture since to die is gain. However, it is conditional. A choice must be made: the Way of Christ or not the Way, but those two ways are the Law of God or the law of sin, to wit: “I (Paul) thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin” (Rom 7:25).

  There again are choices: serve God or serve sin, and by default, serve Satan. Mankind was programmed to serve God with both the mind and flesh (Gen 2:15). Since men are as trees, and death is as leaves falling, then “dress and keep” the Garden takes on a new meaning… to serve and preserve the “trees” that would be seeded by Adam into Eve as his own seed.

  Mankind has three faculties and one power: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength” (Mark 12:30). “Heart” is cognition. Our thoughts are to be on God in all things. Our mind must be on God continually. When Paul said that his mind served God, that is rebirth, because theretofore, his mind was on the Law that was written. 

  However, thereafter his mind was on implied “Law” — the Law of Love. From the time, he was Saul reprogrammed to Paul, and how he looked at the Law was much different. His mind had changed because Jesus had persuaded him. Paul, as all Christians, also serve the law of sin with the flesh. Paul’s mind battled with his flesh, and each time the flesh demands (commands) something, his mind has a choice to make.

  Offered the Bible or television, which would you choose? I make that choice every day and choose God’s Word. This morning I took a rest from my routine. I watched a history program rather than read my Bible. Immediately realizing that I made the wrong choice, I returned to my routine, and herein are the results. I chose God over entertainment, and now I am content.

  Since death is gain, then something about death is rewarding. The contingency is choosing the Way of Jesus over your own way.

  Adam had his way, began to die, and failed to even perceive that he had begun to wither. Aging is indeed a slow process that is almost indetectable. On the other hand, both Adam and Eve experienced guilt.

  Unresolved guilt is the sign that a person is dying spiritually. Although they did not know that their days on Earth had been numbered, they already felt spiritually dead because Satan had isolated them from God. He called them to his (so he thought) tree and God had already called them to come to His. Their decision was to stand under the “Judas Tree” because just as Judas had Satan in him, the Tree of Knowledge had Satan in it.

  How is it known that the sinful pair felt guilt? They perceived their nakedness and hid their shame with aprons of fig leaves (Gen 3:7). They tried to cover their shame. The works of their hands were not efficacious, and when Jesus approached (God was walking), they hid themselves. Did they hide because of their poor aprons, or because Satan had sucked the breath of life from them that God had originally breathed unto Adam, and also with which Adam suscitated Eve?

  With the loss of God’s “Breath,” the two were as dead. Indeed, they had died spiritually! God did not breath life back unto them, but he did the next best thing; He covered them from the elements with coats of skin (Gen 3:21) to keep them safe and preserve them until God breaths life unto them again.

  When will that happen? “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first” (1 Thes 4:16). That will be when God “snatches up” the dust of Adam, and again breathes life back unto Him.

  Death removed the need for the coat to protect Adam’s flesh when he lives again. Why? Because he will have new flesh to contain his soul, Paul wrote there as well, the words “in Christ.” Adam was in Christ. Pre-incarnate (pre-flesh) Jesus provided the two with skins to cover them as a coat.

  Sacred literature reveals that a lamb was killed for the first time to preserve them. Jesus provided innocent flesh that came from His Hands to cover their guilt. He would do the same thing to cover all the guilt of all Adams and Eves thereafter. All have sinned because all are Adams and Eves.

  Adam and Eve finally understood the death of flesh with the killing of the lamb, and they had themselves experienced the deaths of their souls. By grace, God provided a way to revive both — the regeneration of the soul and the resurrection of the flesh!

  Those not in the flesh of Christ are outside it. They are vulnerable to the wiles of the Devil.

  The flesh that Christ provided warded off the barbs of Satan just as those coats of skin with thick wool warded off the backbiting of the Serpent.

  “Born again” is the only “must be” relative to the nature of men in the New Testament (John 3:7). That refers to putting on Christ and a determination to live in Christ. The flesh of Jesus died just as the lamb in Genesis. Those with a new mind desire to put on the coat of skin that Jesus provided when He was crucified. It is a large enough “tent” to cover all that choose to be covered. The choice is yours — to put on Christ or not; to be in Christ and live, or to be out of Christ and die.

DEJAVU

   Adam and Eve were created as one entity. Marriage was ordained from the beginning because woman is of man, or originally of adam (small letter because ‘adam means “man”). The etymology of “woman” is from the old English and means “wife-man.”

The meaning of the word, “wife” is ambiguous since its origin could have come from many languages. Among the meanings are queen, twisted, bitch, veiled, shame, pudenta (Etymology Online) or adulteress (Strong’s Dictionary). The most applicable seems to be “twisted” but not in the negative sense. As “day” in the Hebrew is “hot” and “night” is “twisted” (ibid), man is as day and woman as night. Spiritually that applies because God shared His Light (Truth) with Adam but not with Eve.

Likewise, hot and twisting from the hot, describes processes, as I have previously suggested in my book, On the Origin of Man and the Universe. All the creative steps would be processes, and generation of the different “beings” on Earth would be different processes; as examples, the “first rank,” were space and matter (Gen 1:1), then earth and water,  the invisible kind, celestial objects (unknown-kind), vegetation (plant-kind), sea-kind creatures, land-kind creatures, and finally adam-kind. Last of all was a secondary process entirely different than the creation of ‘adam — the generation of ‘ishah, or “wife-man.” Using the definition “twisted,” Eve was a reprocessing of Adam, and indeed, that compares to scripture.

Now consider the key verses for this commentary.

KEY VERSES: ²¹ And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; ²² And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. ²³ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. (Gen 2:21-23)

Chapter two provides the process of generating Adam. God took the elements generated in Genesis 1:1, generated water, and then earth (the substance). Then God took water (“mist” in Gen 2:6), mixed it with clay (dust in Gen 7), and “formed” ‘adam.

Hence, God molded an image in His Likeness (Jesus), and gave ‘adam what Jesus had — the Spirit of God. God breathed, surely from His side (“lungs”) unto Adam’s side, the breath of Life. Think of that as an “umbilical cord” from God’s side to Adam’s side. That “cord of life” is surely the “silver cord” of which Solomon wrote (Ecc 2:6) that would be “loosed” at death. That implies it was “taut” when life was given from God to ‘adam.

Hence, ‘adam was molded from God’s substances that He made from His Energy (the Holy Spirit). Then ‘adam had his invisible “body” blown unto his visible. Just as the Ghost of Jesus was blown unto Him (as a dove) in “bodily shape” (Luke 3:22), The man, Adam, had his soul breathed unto him in the bodily shape of Jesus. That Image of Jesus is the “Ghost” of Adam and would be like Jesus!

Now, consider Adam’s death for a moment. When Adam sinned, the Spirit of God left him. Hence, Adam died when Adam gave up His “Ghost” beneath the Tree of Knowledge. Adam will be reprocessed in days to come. He will be the first to rise and get his “ghost” back (1 Thes 4:16) at the rapture.

Genesis describes the process for making “man.” The key verses describe the process for “twisting” wife-man from man. Twisting implies a change. Processes are a change from one substance or energy to another substance or energy.

Now consider, “He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh.” For this to happen, God “anesthetized” Adam which is described as a “deep sleep.” (Gen 2:21). In terms of thermodynamics, the process of generating Adam came to equilibrium, then a new process commenced. That second process was generating (twisting) wife-man from man. Twisting even implies an umbilical cord — the silver cord of life!

Translators chose “rib” for the substance to make wife-man. The Hebrew translated “rib,” is as well translated “curved side of the body” (ibid). The substance for wife-man was reprocessed. Just as with a child in utero, wife-man was made from the substance of man. In other Words, God used man to incubate wife-man. Life was generated from God to Adam, and then Adam caused Wife to live. Adam transferred both substances to Eve: matter and Spirit, and with that process, God made Eve a living wife.

Note that woman was generated by the first Adam to create Wife-adam. Adam’s loss became Eve’s gain. Adam breathed life unto Eve, “the mother of all,” and with his flesh, he blew substance unto Eve. He passed along the Holy Spirit of God to Eve with his “spiritual lungs.”

The “Second Adam” did the same for both man and wife-man on the Cross. The Cross was God’s “silver cord” to mankind. He breathed His Holy Ghost unto the Flesh of Jesus when Jesus was baptized. Then, on the Cross, Jesus gave up the Ghost because it was finished!

What was finished? Mankind had been given the substances for regeneration. The regeneration process was revealed. Whereas Adam had no choice in the matter of his “birth,” the choice of ‘adam-kind is to be reborn or not to be reborn. They have the choice of self-abortion or not… to live or not to live.  (see yesterday’s commentary on “Choices.”)

Jesus breathed life unto the earth, to wit: “When they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. (John 19:33-34). The “silver cord” from the Father to Jesus was the Cross. It is the umbilical cord of Life. Then the “Second Adam” borne mankind just as Adam borne Eve. (There, I use “borne” because Adam did not birth Eve but transported what God had made in him to her. The umbilical cord is a means of transference, not creating.)

Jesus, the Second Adam, transported His substance to mankind from His curved side, just as the First Adam had done long ago. His stream of blood from His side to the dust provided the substances to regenerate new men, to twist them from flesh to Spirit.

The “blood” represents the material substances, and the water, the Spiritual substances. It was Living Water that Jesus bled. As He gave up His Holy Ghost, that substance flowed to the ground, and became the “silver cord” between God and mankind much as with Adam to Eve. “Drinking” that water and “eating” that blood is what taking the Eucharist is all about; it is done in remembrance of Jesus, of course, using different substances.

When Eve was generated from Adam, Wife-man came into existence. The First Adam had a bride, so to speak, and the transference of the Holy Spirit was Holy Matrimony. Eve became the bride of Adam. In like manner, when Jesus transferred His blood to mankind, He “married” all mankind. Of course, it is known from scripture that the Second Adam (Jesus) is the Groom, and the Church (Christ-kind) is the Bride!  (Mat 9:15). Then to go unto the nations (Mark 24:14), is the “Great Transference”” and is the Bride giving life unto the world! Through Christians, made in the Image of God, they breath the life-giving Holy Spirit unto adam-kind.

Note that “rib” was replaced by “side” but in Genesis 2:23 from the key verses says, “bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh.” “Bone” in the Hebrew is not bone; it is ‘etsem, meaning “substance.” “Bone of my bone” is ‘etsem ‘etsem — substance of my substance. ‘Adam passed along all the substances generated by God and passed them along to Eve to make her. “Flesh of my flesh” is “basar basar” — and literally, “freshness from my freshness” (ibid). Adam passed along life to Eve. In the vulgar, basar is “pudenta.”  Of course, there was no coitus involved but only “intercourse” from God and that “Intercourse” was God’s Word, and she came into being.

Jesus, on the Cross, did the same thing — “basar basar.” His “freshness” spilled onto the soiled earth to transfer Freshness to freshness. The “silver cord” that had been loosed when Adam sinned, had been made taut again. Adam would be a new man made in the Image of God as he was so long ago.

As Adam's life-giving Water was a mist from the River of God, then the process came to completion as water ran from God's "curved side" to the dust on the ground, and Adam was regenerated. The water allowed reforming and in the blood were the elements for the process of regenerating. Adam (mankind) was remade in the same image as Adam was created. When Jesus gave up His Ghost, mankind was regenerated with the same "mist" from the "River of God" (the water from Jesus) as 'adam-kind was in the beginning.

Jews, as I, believe that Adam is buried beneath Calvary, the place of Adam’s skull. The blood and water regenerated Adam. Perhaps Adam was one of the dead saints who arose from the dust the day God died rather than him, and for him!

⁵⁰ Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; ⁵² And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, ⁵³ And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. (Mat 27:50-53)

Perhaps rather than at the general resurrection, Adam was resurrected three days later with Jesus and confronted the kind with his DNA. Perhaps, as my book, The Skull of Adam, says, that Jesus confronted his progenitor! Perhaps Adam was regenerated in the same process that Eve was generated.

Of course, this is esoteric commentary, but it is from God’s original Word which is believed by many to be a rudimentary form of Hebrew. Does it not make sense that God would use the same ingredients (substances) to remake mankind that He did to make them in the beginning? When I mentally see Adam transporting God to Eve, in my mind’s eye, I see Jesus, the Second Adam, transporting life unto Adam-kind.

THE GARDEN AS TREES WALKING - Final

  Before Abimelech, consider another example; trees not only represent “living souls, but living people as well. They also represent strength as the tale of the Leviathan in the Bible was likened unto cedar, and cedar also represents height, sturdiness, and longevity in different places in the Bible. Cedar, specifically, represents royalty, to wit: “Joash, king of Israe,l sent to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, ‘The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife.” One king, surely, Joash, portrays himself as the “cedar” and his son, Amaziah, as the “thistle” as Amaziah was not king at that time, but Joash was. At first, Joash was righteous and a mighty king, but he turned to other gods, and his subjects cut him down as they would a cedar tree.

  The “thistle,” Amaziah, became king after his father was assassinated, and reigned for 29 years. The mere “thistle” became a “cedar” in due time.

  Now examine Jesus: The Jews put a crown of thorns on his head to mock His Kingship just as Joash mocked the would-be king, Amaziah. Like him long before, the lesser Amaziah was likened unto a lowly thorn bush. When the crown was placed on the head of Jesus, he became the “thistle bush.” The Almighty “Tree of Life” was diminished to a mere prince of the Jews, as was Amaziah.

  Cedar wood also represents eternal life. In the Old Testament, the procedure for cleaning a leper was to take cedar wood, scarlet, blood, and running water, and take a bird killed from an earthen vessel, and cleanse it. That would vicariously cleanse the leper. The dead bird from the earthen vessel would lay on the cedar board, blood and water poured over it, and that would do the cleaning. Then, after several other rituals with various substances, including the sacrfice of a lamb, the priest would make an atonement for the leper (Lev 14).

  As you can see from that sacrifice, “This is the law of him in whom is the plague of leprosy” (Lev 14:32). It does not say that the fleshes of lepers were made alive, but they became clean. They again can commune with them in tabernacle worship; thus, it represents the souls of “dead” men being preserved.

 The point to that, in this commentary, is that the footrest of Jesus was likely of cedar wood. (I have written before that it is believed by many that the post and the cross were from the acacia wooden poles, of course without the gold wrap, from the Ark of the Covenant).

  Just as the cedar wood made the lepers alive by the sprinkling of the water and blood, Jesus made all those who trust Him alive by the sprinkling of His Blood and Water on the cedar footrest. The bird from the earthen vessel, would represent Jesus, not from the tomb in the earth, but as one destined for the tomb.

  Cedar would not only represent kings in the Bible, but THE KING OF THE JEWS on the cross… in His “tree” as Paul called it (Acts 13:29). Whenever scripture names “trees” in the Bible, it has a deeper spiritual meaning. Why else would the Temple be lined with the best cedars from Lebanon? They represent royalty.  Now, for the key verses:

KEY VERSES: ⁸ The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, “Reign thou over us.” ⁹ But the olive tree said unto them, “Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? ¹⁰ And the trees said to the fig tree, “Come thou, and reign over us.” ¹¹ But the fig tree said unto them, “Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?” ¹² Then said the trees unto the vine, “Come thou, and reign over us.” ¹³ And the vine said unto them, “Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?” ¹⁴ Then said all the trees unto the bramble, “Come thou, and reign over us.” ¹⁵ And the bramble said unto the trees, “If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon. (Jud 9:8-15) (Note the underlines were added by me anywhere a tree was named).

  The key verses are an allegory symbolic of Abimelech’s treachery to be king of the Hebrews in Shechem, rather than the legitimate heirs, if there was to be a king. Remember that this was in the era of judges before there were kings over all Israel. Thus, the coup d’etat was not to determine king of Israel, but to be a mere tribal “king,” hence not a true king at all. 

  Now for the list of trees from those passages: trees and “all the trees,” olive tree, fig tree, the vine, the bramble, the “shadow of the bramble” (not underlined), and the cedars of Lebanon:

Lewis Ginzberg's "The Legends of the Jews" records the following remarks on Abimelech: "Tan B 1 103. The parable of Jotham is said to refer to the prominent judges: Othniel [=Olive tree], Deborah [=fig tree], Gideon [=vine], and Elimelech [=bramble]. (Wikipedia; “Abimelech”)

  Ginzberg’s comments may be true, but perhaps there were also spiritual “trees” involved. For instance, Jesus is represented as the “Vine” (John 15:1). Vines, spread and provide shoots that make saplings. John 15:1 also says that “ye are the branches.” The “trees” were not only the people of Shechem but the spiritual “branches” from the Vine, Jesus.

  Now think in terms of Jesus. Who would be the olive tree? The Vine itself as the olive represents “Peace on Earth” (Luke 2:14). The Vine would become the branch of olive tree. Perhaps the olive also represents the Tree of Life since that is allegorical for the Godhead, Jesus being the “branch” that Adam could see.

  The fig tree, perhaps, represents the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil since it was obviously a fig tree. That makes sense as Adam and Eve made themselves “aprons of fig leaves” (Gen 3:7) while standing under it. I have proposed that the “Judas Tree” on which he hanged was also a fig tree for many reasons. Thereon, Satan withered because he was in Judas, just as the fig tree withered in the Parable of the Fig Tree.

  The bramble bush would represent, not Elimelech, but Abimelech himself as pretender to the throne. Abimelech himself is a type of Judas, both pretenders to the throne. Not that Judas, the man, sought the throne belonging to Jesus, but Satan within him did. Now, the key verses can be rewritten, with those assumptions:

⁸ The Hebrews went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the Tree of Life, “Reign thou over us.” ⁹ But the Tree of Life said unto them, “Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the multitude? ¹⁰ And the multitude said to the Tree of Knowledge, “Come thou, and reign over us. ¹¹ But the Tree of Knowledge said unto them, “Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?” ¹² Then said the multitude unto Jesus, “Come thou, and reign over us.” ¹³ And Jesus said unto them, “Should I leave my wine (blood), which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the multitude?” ¹⁴ Then said all the multitude said unto Judas, “Come thou, and reign over us.” ¹⁵ And Judas (Satan) said unto the multitude, “If in truth ye anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the Judas Tree and devour the Temple of God of Lebanon.

  I had not identified the cedar tree. It lined God’s House that would be built by Solomon — the house for God that He did not want, and by a king that He did not want. The Second Temple was torn down in 70 AD, as Jesus foreknew, because it would no longer be needed for worship. Satan directed Titus to tear down the Temple. He was not aware of it, but the Temple of God was at that time the souls of men! The pillars of God’s Temple were built of “Lively Stones” and inside the hearts of those “stones,” there should be linings of cedar! Cedars are noted for strength, mightiness, and longevity. Steadfast Christians are as mighty cedars.

  As such, Christians are the Temple of God, and the Devil is in the Judas Tree. That points toward the Devil devouring Christians, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Pet 5:8). A “roaring lion” instead of a tree? Yes, Satan can take on the form of a man, a tree, or a beast. He is also the “fiery flyjng serpent” (Isa 14:29) which explains the “let fire come out” of him in verse 15.

  What was the “shadow” of the “bramble bush?” If the bramble bush was Judas, then the “shadow” would be Satan in him. Once Judas died, Satan came out, and from this time forward, until he enters the Antichrist, he is a “shadow” that blends in with all the shadows of people’s “trees.”

  Perhaps the key verses explain the competition for Abimelech to be king, but why would that matter enough to be Holy Scripture? Because it has much different, but primary meaning! Perhaps that the Temples were lined with cedar does represent Christians. Of course, not in reality, but allegorically. If indeed God’s “footstool” — the footrest on the cross — was of cedar, His blood and water that redeemed mankind, flowed on that cedar just as the vicarious death of a bird, made a leper alive, in the first example. Perhaps the “cedar lining” in Christians is the blood and water that Christians “drink” when they trust the death of Jesus as propitiation for the loss of their own blood!

  Now for my personal comments: Of all the scripture that is written, this one was the hardest for me to understand! Maybe it is not exact to my comments, but somehow all scripture points to Jesus, mankind, and to grace. By grace God’s blood was sprinkled on a bird on cedar plank. My bet is that, that bird was a dove. Why a dove? It is the motion of the bodily-shaped Holy Ghost had when it glided onto Jesus at His baptism (Luke 3:22). Indeed, there is nothing new under the sun!

  This concludes my vision of, “Men as Trees Walking,” but trees still walk. The Tree of Life, at this very moment, is the Voice of God walking in the Garden Paradise in the Realm of Heaven. Can you not “see” Jesus? For those who can, they see through the transparent Sea of Glass unto Heaven; perhaps all the way across the “curtain” that we call the Cosmos… and see God in the Tenth Heaven!

In the Bible, the cross is called a "tree." Upon that "tree" was nailed the "Tree of Life" - Jesus. The shadow of Jesus is the cross. When we think of the cross, it is in remembrance of Jesus. It is also in remembrance if the Tree of Life, still in the midst of the Garden Paradise; now the City of God.
