Navel of the World

Use your imagination: Isaiah saw into the future. He didn't have words to describe what he was seeing and even if he did, they would have meant nothing to the hearers! Israel is extremely important to God. It is layer after layer of civilization. Many times Israel, especially Jerusalem, has laid in heaps after destruction by their enemies. However, Jerusalem will never be destroyed. God will preserve it for it has a future use. Now examine some obscure but important Scripture; Isaiah's trip to the future Jerusalem:
For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof. As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it. Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted. (Isa 31:4-6)
Jerusalem will be attacked by ground and maybe air. This is not a battle of antiquity but one in the future. It may be that the "roaring lions" are army tanks and military trucks. The "birds flying" of course may be helicopters, air planes, and missiles. However, "the Lord of Hosts" - Tzevaot, will fly over with His angels. Tzevaot is the Leader of the armies of God. Since He can be seen, this Leader is Jesus Christ.
This may be the battle described in Revelation chapter 9.  It is a battle led by Abbadon who is most likely the Antichrist. (Some identify Abbadon as Satan, but he is a coward and never fights his own battles.) This is not about the enemy though, but the Friend! That will be a battle to punish those who have and will continue to defy God. Those who repent shall be preserved. Isaiah saw the battle which John saw in God's Revelation to him. Isaiah's visions were God's revelation to him!
Zion is an oronym - a description of a mountain, and specifically Zions are specific mountains in Jerusalem. There are many "Zions" in the city of Jerusalem - Mt. Moriah, Mount of Olives, etc. so Zion has come to mean Jerusalem.
Zionists are those who attempt to restore the entire Kingdom of David. Mount Zion is the axis mundi, or navel of the world in Judaism. Other areas of the world claim the same for themselves. However, "Mediterranean" means "middle of the earth". Thus, Jerusalem is the most befitting of axis mundi. Many configurations of the "firmament" (Gen 1:6) which geologists have named Pangea have been drawn. Pangea is the earth before the continental drift which likely occurred in the aftermath of the flood of Noah's time (Gen 10:25).
The continents in those representations rotated and expanded around the Mediterranean Sea.

Even more importantly is that Zion is the religious navel of the world. The navel represents life. It is believed to be the place where Adam was created, and the very location of the foundation stone which lies beneath the Dome of the Rock. Furthermore, Zion is the access point to Heaven as Bethany is where Jesus ascended. The abyss below  the foundation stone was the source of the water of Noah's flood, and the entryway to Hell.
All civilizations and empires considered Zion as the most desirable city of them all. Mankind seems to have an affinity for Jerusalem. People from all over the world, when they die, are taken to Zion to be buried at the Mount of Olives Cemetery to be near the portal to Heaven when the rapture comes! Right now, I have a strong spiritual pull to see where I will ascend to Heaven as the trumpet of God sounds. Zion is the place of my own spiritual birth!
We were created in the image of God. Jesus was loved before the foundation of the world (John 17:27). It stands to reason that God loved us as well before the foundation of the world. I believe that the container for our souls pre-existed the creation. I am speaking of the human soul. It is not made of matter but it is an emptiness which longs for filling. At the time of regeneration, God fills it back to the original Designers Intent - a re-genesis - back as Adam's before the fall of mankind.
Levi "paid tithes" to Melchizedek (Jesus) before he was ever conceived (Heb 7:10). Levi pre-existed his conception. We did too, not in body but soul. Souls are immortal. They always did exist and always will! As such, God draws me toward "home" as he did Abraham. "Home" for everyone is Zion. Soon I will visit the pathway to my room in God's mansion; I shall go to the navel of the world before my death when I visit the Holy Land, and return there after my death when God's time comes.
God will preserve Zion.(Isa 31:5). Nothing in the heavens will destroy Jerusalem. It is the "foundation of peace", and there will be peace there when the time comes. New Jerusalem will also come "home" from it's present place in Heaven (Rev 21:2).
Zion is also the spiritual navel of the universe. It is the access point between the heaven and the earth (Gen 1:1) and between the material and spiritual worlds. I believe that the sea of glass on which God's throne resides is above the navel of the world (Rev 4:6). God's "footstool" is the foundation stone at the navel of the world (Isa 66:1). The Holy of Holies is where mankind sat kneeled at God's "footstool" (1 Chron 28:2) on the top of the Ark between the cherubim symbolic of those angels which guard re-entry to Paradise (Gen 329; Exod 25:18-19)!
God will preserve Zion! I am a Zionist because I believe that! I am so trusting that God will preserve Jerusalem with its portal to Heaven that I stake my eternal life on that. Preservation is by Jesus's Name and he and his angels will guard and protect that great city - the City of David and the City of God! Isaiah saw Jesus (Yehoshua) whose Name means "Yahweh is salvation" or "God the Preserver". I can see Him too!
