Continuing from yesterday, “Moab shall be trodden down under him” from the key verse:
For
in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shall be trodden
down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. And he shall
spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth
forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the
spoils of their hands.
“Him” is Jesus Christ. I contend that Moab represents the Serpent, and the Edenic or Adamic Covenant identifies him as Moab; to wit:
And
the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the
woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto
the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and
above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt
thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the
woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou
shalt bruise his heel. (Gen 3::13-15).
Focus on the last verse. “Enmity” is ill-will. “Seed” are the descendants of both the Serpent and the woman. Her descendant will bruise the Serpent’s descendant’s head,, and the Serpent’s descendant shall bruise Eve’s descendant’s heel.
“Adam” means man, and when Adam sinned, he was emancipated from Yahweh, and became a son of the Serpent. Sinful mankind are still sons of Satan.
Eve is the mother of all the living. Jesus is her offspring. Jesus was born of a woman, but not of a man. Jesus’s Father is Yahweh, and Mary is his surrogate mother. Therefore, the message in Genesis 3:15 is, Jesus shall bruise the Serpent’s head, and the Serpent will bruise Jesus’s heel. It only remains to identify the Serpent’s descendant. He is mankind – Adams – all wicked men. With that premise, I wrote the book, The Skull of Adam. “Golgotha,” called Calvary from the Latin, means “place of the skull” (Mat 27:33; Mark 15:22; John 19:17). The place of whose skull? Adam’s! According to Hebrew sacred literature, Seth and Melchizedek removed the bones of Adam from the ark of Noah, and buried them at Golgotha.
Jesus, if that is true, would have crushed Adam’s skull when he treaded the way to the Holy Cross, and Adam’s head may have bruised Jesus’s heel. Perhaps that was physical, but certainly was metaphorical! Sin (Adam) caused Jesus to be crucified, but Jesus’s crucifixion crushed the sin of all Adams. Jesus did not die on the Holy Cross, his flesh slept as his Holy Ghost crushed sin by dumping all the sins of mankind in Hell. Adam’s skull represented sin. Satan wasn’t there to die so Satan’s “sons” suffered death.
There was another death that day:
Then
Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented
himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and
elders, saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And
they said, “What is that to us? see thou to that.” And he cast down the pieces
of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. (Mat
27:1-10).
Satan had entered Judas Iscariot (Luke 22:3; John 13:27). Judas was a tool used by Jesus. Jesus allowed Satan to enter into Judas so Jesus’s purpose could be fulfilled. The spirit of Satan betrayed Jesus. Judas was like the viper itself who Satan entered in – both were tools of God – one for testing the will of Adam, and the latter for testing the mob who was to hang Jesus on his “Tree.”
Judas repented. Judas, because of the lust for money, opened the door for Satan to enter in, and Satan did just that. Judas repented of that sin. When he hanged himself, he destroyed the flesh of Satan so that Satan had to flee. Thus, Satan was defeated the day that Jesus was crucified, and his head was crushed, so to speak, when Jesus’s stepped on Adam’s head, the son of the Serpent.
God’s son lives on both in the hearts of men, and physically in Heaven. Likewise, Satan’s son still lives in the hearts of men and physically in Hell. The Edenic Covenant, we find from other sources, is that by grace, Adam’s sin will be redeemed, and him glorified. Using 5-1/2 “days” as a metaphor for 5500 years, the rapture will resurrect Adam, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first” (1 Thes 4:16). Adam, from his place beneath Calvary, will be raised from the dead, and “death will be swallowed up in victory!”
Now back to Moab who will be trodden down beneath Jesus’s feet. Moab was the country just across the Jordan River southeast of Jerusalem. They were ill-willed (had enmity) with Judah and Judah had enmity with Moab. Moab is on the wrong side of the Dead Sea, and represents death, and the very word, “Moab” means “from the seed of my father” and possibly, “his mother is his father’ (Wikipedia; “Moab”). Moab was from the seed of Lot and Lot’s eldest daughter (Gen 19:30-38). Hence, “his mother is his father.” Moab existed because of sexual incest:
It
came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I
lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and
go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they
made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay
with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were
both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. And the first born bare a
son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this
day. And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the
same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day. (Gen 19:34-38).
To be blunt, Moab (modern-day Jordan) and Ammon (modern-day Syria) exist because of incest. The eldest daughter created Moab. Thus, Moab represents Satan.
In those days, countries were represented by their gods. They were the land and property belonging to their deities. For instance, Judah and Israel belonged to Yahweh. Moab belonged to Chemosh who was also the god of the Ammonites. Chemosh was known by Ashtar and as Astarte, and she was worshipped in the temples of Chemosh. However, the name Ashtar is a masculine name of a female goddess. Hence, “his mother is his father” may be true for the Moabites. Ashtar was the Moabite mother and father, as Lot’s daughter was as well.
Astarte is the Greek name for Semitic Ashtoreth. In Accadian, she is Asdartu which is the masculine form of Ishtar. In other words, this goddess seems to be represented as a male although she was female. (Perhaps she was a feminist god.)
She was a goddess of fertility, sexuality, and war; as many “deities” were. Chemosh, under different names, was the wife of Baal had different names in different cultures.
Figure 1:Figurine of Astarte from Wikipedia
Astarte or Ishtar who also was called Inanna was known as the “Queen of Heaven.” She was associated with the planet Venus and symbolized as a star within a circle. (The five-pointed star is the Satanic symbol, by the way.) Ishtar originated in Uruk (Iraq), the second city built by Nimrod of the Bible. The goddess of the Moabites was surely the goddess of Abraham’s family in Ur. Through Lot, worship of her traveled to Moab and Ammon.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was Yahweh. The god previous to Abraham was the one who would become Chemosh and who is represented by the tribe of Moab. Ishtar was thought of as both masculine and female. Today, that goddess would be considered a hermaphrodite. Transgenderism would be an abomination to the Lord since Ishtar was believed by some to be of both genders.[1]
In summary, Moab represents the earliest known false god. He/she would represent the Serpent in Eden. The Serpent’s sex was not identified, but whichever sex, it allured both Adam and Eve. Many theologians believe that the “fruit” of the Tree of Knowledge was knowing sex for pleasure rather than for pro-creation.
The god of Moab, essentially the Serpent, would have his/her head stepped upon by the heel of Jesus! The Edenic Covenant was the same as the Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic Covenants as well as the Covenant of Grace because they all had the same promise to Adam-kind.
