There were more than Ten Plagues in the exodus. We all missed the first plagues that caused the Ten Plagues!
Paul, in his letter to the Romans, was warning the Jews why God had raised them up. He quoted the Old Testament about Pharaoh. He quoted verse sixteen from the passages below:
KEY VERSES:
13 And the Lord said unto Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, ‘Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 14 For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth. 15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth. 16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. 17 As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?’” (Exod 9:13-17)
Paul’s point was that the Jews took their “chosen” and “peculiar”
(Deut 14:2) relationship with God for granted. Paul made the point that they
are not quite that special; that some would be saved and others not. Peter had
pointed out to the Gentiles that they too were the “chosen” and “peculiar”
people (1 Pet 2:9). I am going to call this contest for God’s favor, “spiritual
politics.” That concept had come up before when the disciples came to Jesus and
asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Mat 8:1)? For the Jews who would make it to heaven, they
would be equal to the Gentiles in Heaven as God is not a “respecter of persons”
(Act 10:34). That too was spiritual politics like Pharaoh and Moses.
Paul made the point that just as God had used evil Pharaoh for
his purposes, He too could use the evil Jews for His purposes. “Evil” in this
case, was not doing evil but doing good things as payment for the
reward. The Jews nullified grace by being good for the wrong purpose. On the
other hand, the Gentiles did nothing special peculiar to the Law and received
grace for free by doing nothing. That seems unfair, but God establishes fairness.
Why discuss this? Well, that is in the key verse above
(underlined). Paul quoted that verse to explain that God had a purpose for the
Jews. They superseded the Gentiles so that all God’s spiritual seed be redeemed,
not just the seed of Isaac and Jacob (and Joseph). In other words, God used
Isaac and Jacob to save “Adams” — the seed of all mankind.
Just like Pharaoh was Pharaoh for the purpose of God. By his
brutality, the Jews were saved. If Pharaoh had not been so malevolent to the
Jews, the Jews would have intermarried and disappeared from the face of the
earth, then we all would have been damned. Pharaoh saved the Jews and
indirectly Pharaoh saved all Christians. Not that he was truly a god as he
claimed, but God used that false god to show the world just who IS the True
God!
In another situation, God used evil Nebuchadnezzar for the
same purpose. The King of Babylon humbled a remnant of the Jews how? By
destroying the nation, tearing down their Temple, and carrying them to Babylon.
Nebuchadnezzar reversed the exodus, and the diaspora was essentially the Jews
returning to a different “pharaoh.” God put the Jews in slavery again. Why? So
that He could free them again! God kept some Jews safe for hundreds of years so
that His promise to Abraham would be finished. Just when was the Abrahamic
Covenant finished? When the Edenic Covenant was finished. When Jesus died, His
last words were, “It is finished” (John 19:30).
The redemption of mankind was finished; the “whosover”
in John 3:16, but that included the Gentiles. God used the Jews to save a remnant
of them as well as a remnant of the Gentiles. Never take for granted that
Christians are safe from the evil one just because they have been redeemed. God
redeemed the Jews time after time, but they are unsafe to this day. Never for a
minute think that keeping the Law is the ticket to safe passage because legalists
are in bondage and fail to even know it! (Grace is antinomialism, or “against
legalism”).
God told Moses to explain something to Pharaoh, to wit: “For
I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy
servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me
in all the earth.” We think of the ten plagues that God sent, but it was Pharaoh
who truly caused the first plague. He brought “first blood” not God! The
problem with Egypt was not the people nor the land, but Pharaoh.
Recently, in America, there have been many plagues: earthquakes,
insects, fires, terrorist attacks, wars, and now COVID-19. However, the hidden
plague is less obvious — that the people of the United States no longer depend
on God but our “pharaohs.” That was Egypt’s problem, Israel’s problem, France’s
problem, Russia’s problem, and Gemany’s problem. Egypt was an early version of
socialism, just like all kingdoms and autocracies. Socialism always has its “pharaoah,”
false gods, enslaved people, and those who allow others to toil so that they
need not. Even the Jews toiled for their freedom when indeed they were already
free!
Socialism is America’s problem. It is a plague on this
nation. We too had our many “pharaoah’s” who enslaved America. Recently, they
were Lyndon Johnson, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and the Bush’s.
They all plagued this nation. They have all allowed the death of the innocents
just like Pharaoah! Where did the worst plague
happen in Egypt? Did God make the plague of all plagues or the plague-God Pharaoh?
8 There arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. 9 And he (Pharaoh) said unto his people, “Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: 10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land…” 14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage… 15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives… 16 And he said, “When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live” (Exod 1:8-16)
The first plague has gone unnoticed all these years. There
were many plagues before God used the ten to persuade Pharaoh to let God’s people
go. Pharaoh was God’s useful instrument to purchase freedom for the Hebrews
just as Nebuchadnezzar was God’s useful tool to preserve the Jews for later
use.
Another plague preceded God’s ten as well — the loss of
freedom for the Hebrews with slavery to the government. That is how the
ideology of socialism works; its implementation is communistic because
freedom-loving peoples will not remain loyal to autocrats!
Pharaoh was afraid of the Hebrew’s numbers, power, and their
God because their power came from God. What was he to do? Let us abort the
children of the Hebrew women! Pharaoh was just another sexist who stole
children from the women’s bodies and undoubtedly fooled them by not killing
female children. That would have caused the women to uprise against him. Pharaoh
was a woos feminist who hearkened to the female much as Adam hearkened
unto Eve! Pharaoh was shrewd as well as underhanded.
The first plague was abortion. Yes, killing babies on the birthing
stool is what Democrats do now in some states. In fact, then Illinois Senator
Obama is said to have voted to abort babies on the “birthing stool” so to speak
by causing those who lived to die outside the womb. That pushed the limits with
God, just as it did with Pharaoh.
President Obama paid homage several times to the
God of Ishmail, Abraham’s son. He knew not Joseph’s father, Jacob and his
father Isaac. He claimed to be of “Joseph,” but his heart obviously was with
the seed of Ishmail — Muhammad.
Abortion is the plague from Satan, of whom Pharaoh was a “type.”
Abortion now is as severe as it had been under the Egyptian king and that
happened when America had their new “king.” Arrogant Obama acted as if he was
king, and still as if he is still president!
Obama is a type of “Pharaoh” in that God had a purpose for
him. He was to bring the true plague on America, ironically by killing off his
own people by abortion. Was he afraid of their power, or was it the power of
woman that the woos president feared?
After eight years, God was through with “Pharaoh” Obama as
were most true Christians. We tired of the continual killing of our people and
his fear of women, so afraid that he had to make it appear that they had power.
He appeased the women voters to retain his power just as Pharaoh long before.
How did God present Moses to His people? By first presenting
a Pharaoh that did not know God. God
used Obama so that us “Hebrews” would want our freedom and follow our “Moses.”
Obama was the swamp creature, and perhaps Pharaoh died in
the Nile! Perhaps Obama will see his demise when the “swamp” is parted. At any
rate, if Pharaoh did not die in the river, his power was diminished because his
name remains unknown to this day; he was just another Pharaoh who claimed that
he was a god.
Why Trump? Because of Obama! Without Obama there would have
been no need for President Trump. Ironically, his name will live in history forever,
but Pharaoh’s name is long forgotten!
Moses (water) was pulled from the river, and Trump is
American’s trumpet. America, be warned, the trump has sounded, and the plagues
will only end when the Potomoc River is parted and the Washington swamp drains
unto the ocean. The choice was with the Hebrews in the time of Moses and is
with the people during these series of plagues.
