Do Not As the Pagans Do

Pagans, in theology, are non-Judeo-Christians. God provided many Laws which separate the Believer from the pagans. The Hebrew people were to remain separate by doing what is right.
“When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. (Deut 18:9; ESV).
As the Jews intermingled, they were to maintain their purity. Purity was and is significant to God. Pagans defile God by their practices. "Abominable practices" are things disgusting to the Lord. Scripture refers to them as "defilements". Oftentimes defilements are sexual impurities associated with fornication, and fornicating against God is the worst defilement. Spiritual fornication is having other gods in God's face. Thus, to remain pure, Scripture says this:
Thus says the Lord: “Learn not the way of the nations. (Jer 10:2; ESV)

The theme of the Bible from Exodus onward is God warning to "learn not the way of the nations." God even demanded that those Jews who were married to foreign wives divorce. (Ezra 10:2-3). That was because the Hebrews were doing the abominations of the nations of their wives. Marriage is symbolic of man's "marriage" to God. It seems that defilement was a greater sin than even divorce because, in this case, God tolerated divorce to eliminate defilement by his people.
Abominable practices are many and a few are listed in scripture. Of course, "abominations" are doing anything imaginable. Christians would never even dream of same-sex relationships... or would they? That is a pagan practice, and an abomination!
Christians would never turn to astrology or psychics... or would they? Those are pagan practices, and are abominations!
Christians would never turn to pagan religious practices... or would they. Things such as belief in nirvana, karma, and yoga... or would they? We hear of bad karma and such quite often in the United States, even from Christians. Nirvana is the culmination of yoga. One is fully enlightened by yoga, and thus are in a state of nirvana. Nirvana is obtaining Hindu Heaven. That is a dangerous place to be in!
Christians everywhere practice yoga. They really do! Yoga leaders often say to comfort the Christian, "Yoga is not a religion!" Like all deception, that has a grain of truth. Yoga truthfully is not a religion; it is a religious practice in Hinduism and other eastern thoughts. It's Christian equivalent is being born-again. That is when the sinner is enlightened, and becomes a new person. Knowing the truth is what enlightens the sinner and transforms into the new creature.
Nirvana is Hindu's "new creatures" state, and yoga is the enlightenment process. Yoga means "union with the divine". To be blunt, that divinity isn't God! If not God to whom does the yogi connect? I'll wait a second now for the Christian to guess. Have you? Let me help. It's connection with the angel of light himself - Lucifer, aka Satan and the Devil. In Hinduism, Satan and his principalities are known as Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva - their unholy trinity.
Many Christians have told me, "I don't practice yoga. It's just exercise for me." This is said right after they call it yoga! It's like saying, "I don't worship Molech, I just do what he wants." Don't throw the baby into the fire of Molech, and don't submit yourselves to the will of Vishnu!
Satan uses deception such as, "You won't surely die," to get you to do things you otherwise would not do. In pagan practices, Satan says, "God will turn his eye to this innocent practice, so go ahead and do what you wish!" God won't. He despises the pagan practices of other nations! You just may die as a result of reaching nirvana.
God warns us about such deception:

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!  (Isa 5:20; ESV).
When God says things He means them. Maybe Yoga won't send you to Hell but what can be said that the God who died for you considers those things disgusting practices? Satan wants you to do them because he has you where he wants you - fornicating against God by flirting with other gods.
There is a war going on for your very soul. Just because you are safe from Satan's direct harm, he can still indirectly harm you. (Job 1).

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephes 6:12).
Christians believe they can outsmart the Devil. They can do his will and God's Will too. One cannot have two masters. Eventually they must serve one or the other (Mat 6:24). If one is doing what the pagans do, whether it be with mediums, astrologers, or yogi gurus, they are doing the will of Satan who is on the way to mastering!
Satan is weak as are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, but those dark angels or imposter gods are much smarter and stronger than you! Just look at how you have been deceived. They are somewhat honest: dark angels tell you what they are after - your soul. They obtain your soul by yoga. You can argue with me but you can't the half-honesty of your guru.
During yoga, a woman was told to remove her shoes so as to not offend. Her response was, "Offend whom?" The answer to that is, their gods. She removed her shoes so as not to offend. By doing so, who did she offend? Jesus! He is the alleged master of the Christian, and like Peter, by taking off the shoes she denied God. Of course, she was not aware of that because she had been deceived. Again, Vishnu is smarter than the average person!
Many Christians practice astrology, divination, and yoga. I don't wish to offend them, but God's Word often does offend. It is a battle of wills: yours versus God's. Your desire is to do what you will, and God is for you to do His Will. Choose wisely my friend, and don't hate me. I am merely the messenger who must deal with my own transgressions. You must deal with yours!
